Fan Games

Postby Awesomeguy 99 » May 15th, 2016, 3:06 pm

So this topic is for games like Super Mario Brothers X that weren't made by the official company but are games featuring the same characters.

Lately I've been playing Super Smash Flash 2 which is just Smash with some of the same and some new characters. My favorite is Chibi Robo, he's just so fun to use. It's also got multiplayer and online modes if you make an account for this website made by the creators of the game and it has custom modes like Turbo Mode and some others. It's really cool.

So, what are your experiences with Fan Games, good or bad?
Might be ready in a bit.

I know a series of Zelda fangames originally made in French and translated into English. They're basically fanmade sequels to A Link to the Past, coded entirely from scratch (not romhacks). I've actually done some speedruns of the first game, but I'd say the second game is the best. I haven't played the third much though.

Well, there's this game called Super Mario 63...what? Not funny? Okay.

Anyway, Super Smash Flash 2 is really great and I highly recommend it. Even though there are a fair number of Smash fangames out there, SSF2 is undoubtedly the best in my opinion.

I played through a MOTHER fangame called Cognitive Dissonance some time ago. Some things about it were really great. Some other things...weren't. But overall, I thought it was pretty good.
