All the information above (and some other, more spontaneous updates like server events) can be found in the #terraria channel of the Runouw Discord Server, so it's recommended to join the chat if you're interested in playing with us.

Not much more to say. Obviously the site rules still apply, just use common sense. Don't destroy or take someone else's stuff, don't cheese the game with an overpowered character, and try not to take progression-breaking gear or resources from other worlds, don't just blitz through WoF and trigger hardmode for everyone on the first day. Nobody is very far yet (no bosses have been killed) but Doram has mentioned having extra gear if new players are interested in joining and would like a boost to approximately the same point as everyone else.

More information will probably be added to this post as events are planned or as classes become relevant. /!\ Please check the pinned messages on the Discord channel often, and spread the word! /!\ This is where the majority of discussion and feedback takes place.

Feel free to invite friends and have fun guys <3

Re: Runouw Terraria Server

So, in the interest of defining some sort of schedule, because this is my first time hosting a Terraria server for so many players (I don't want to ruin anybody's first time) and also because it got off to kindof a rough start (the inadvertent expert mode and hallow/crimson spawns not being ideal, for instance), I was thinking maybe we could do bosses every 3 or 4 days. Ideally, this means that nobody would trigger an encounter with a specific boss before the date listed below, and instead focus their server time helping others or working on personal projects. Of course accidents can still happen, especially if you're new to the game, but you probably will not survive those instances, heh. Hopefully this would slow things down for the less experienced players without boring more advanced players, and allow everyone fair chance to make and experiment with their own equipment. Unfortunately, this won't affect anything that has already been done- players looking to join at this point in time will either need to work a bit harder to acquire armour/weapons, take level-appropriate gear from other characters/worlds (we're currently at around platinum tier gear, 200-260 health), or ask around on the server for donations to catch up. Sorry guys :(

Anyway, boss outline as follows (pre-Hardmode bosses only, more will be added as we progress and bugs are worked out):
  • Slime King- Defeated, uncontrolled spawns allowed
  • Eye of Cthulhu- Defeated, uncontrolled spawns allowed
  • Brain of Cthulhu- Sunday, October 16th, 11PM GMT
  • Queen Bee- Wednesday, October 19th, 11PM GMT
  • Skeletron- Saturday, October 22, 11PM GMT
  • Wall of Flesh- Wednesday, October 26, 11PM GMT
  • Eater of Worlds- Requires creation of an artificial corruption biome, no scheduled date at the moment

As you can see, with the exception of tomorrow's Sunday, all major bosses/progression points are scheduled for 11PM GMT midway through the week or midway through the weekend. The idea is that it gives plenty of time to prepare even if you can't join at all one day. If these times are excessively late, early, or otherwise unworkable for you, please let me know below.

One other thing that's worth noting is that defeated bosses can be spawned again at any time with their appropriate spawn item. If you missed the chance and would like to get the rewards from it, there is nothing barring players from re-summoning them whenever. Please be aware that boss health scales with the number of players online, so it is recommended to let anyone else playing at the same time know what you intend to do.

Tomorrow's boss is one that should give a platinum-tier character no significant issues, and is probably doable at lower tiers as well, so if you're still looking to join, now is probably the best chance you're likely to get.
