Favorite Smash Brother

Postby Ridder » September 25th, 2009, 8:13 pm

So, which Smash Brothers is your favorite?
Is it the very first one? :)
Or maybe the Awesomness of the Second? :ugeek:
How about the broken mess that is Brawl?

Hey,I like all three, but you can tell my favorite is Melee.

  • Super Smash Bros.
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee
  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl

You can post reasons why and stuff like that. I just want to know.

If you have played all three, rate on a scale of 1 to 10 for each one.

Brawl.

Epic Multiplayer with STAGE BUILDER, Singleplayer Adventure Mode, Snapshots, Replays... holy sh*t

The only thing I hate is the random tripping ;_;

Brawl 9/10

It is easily the most fun out of the 3, and even though it had a few flaws (stage builder sucked, SSE could've been worked on, etc.), it is my favorite game and the best game you can get if you have friends. By the way, Ridder, why do you say that Brawl is a broken mess? :?:

Brawl for me too.

It's the ultimate game for multiplayer.

There was so much stuff packed into it, they had to put double layering on the disc to get it all on.

RESPONSE TO BLABLOB.

Well,It's nothing big, but I don't really like brawl all that much.
  • The matches were so slow, the lower amount of gravity just made it worse.
  • Some characters were just overcomplicated, some were just too strong and fast at the same time.
  • Chain Grabbing, I don't know how to do it, but it's annoying.
  • Stage Builder is just so.......limited.
  • Some features were not at all useful.
  • Marth's Final Smash, yes. that one.
  • Adventure Mode could use some fine tuning, I mean,Sonic's last minute and unexplained entry just made me mad.
  • Half the characters don't really seem to be needed.

I just prefer Melee.

Uhh, Classic. :) The first Super Smash Bros. was of course what got me started. :O It was fun and simple, nothing elses was needed to be added. Melee and Brawl may have more features and such, but that's expected, I mean... It's a sequel to a game, people strive for perfection. The first one introduced the idea of a bunch of nintendo characters fighting in a side scrolling action. :)

What's so amazing about the first? Sure, it introduced the idea, but Melee and Brawl simply improved apon it.

Anyway, I'm siding with a majority of people here, and choosing Brawl above the others. I understand how people prefer Melee, but really, what's so bad about Brawl? All they really did in it was improve on it's prequels. I guess the problem is, people don't like the fact that Brawl didn't improve as much as it should have. Despite that however, it's an improvement nonetheless.

Though, I wish they did keep Melee's fast-paced gameplay, because it was also in my opinion better. Not to mention the fact that the designers seemed to go slack on the online mode. Very few options and horrible servers didn't cut it for me.

You know what's weird? I've had Brawl for almost a year now and I haven't played online once. Not that I don't want to, I just don't have internet connection.
