Actually, Kratos can come back anytime, he always gets out of hell, remember?
It's just that, for some reason, the creators haven't worked out that plot hole yet, It's all very confusing when you try to make a game about gods, because it defies all sense of death if there is a god of the "Underworld".
As for the Fates thing, it just means he defied fate itself, because no matter how strong they were, the fates weren't blade/hammer/spear/magic/bow proof.
Anyone remember that time you had to beat the goop out of that one titans eye just for a long range weapon? Why did we have to kill that one man again (He was over a fire and begging for Kratos to kill him).
THE CREED: Nothing is True. Everything is Permitted.
"...That's rather cynical."
"It would be if it were doctrine, but it is merely an observation of the nature of reality.
To say that Nothing is True is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shephards of our own civilization.
To say that Everything is Permitted is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with the consequences, whether glorious...or tragic."
-Ezio Auditore da Firenze explaining the Creed, 1514, Masayaf.
