Lol, see Suyo's post. He has already gone into detail. :P

Spoiler: show
This theory can be proved wrong though.

Cave Johnson died in 1976 which means he must have had Chell before this time. This would make her 30 by the first Half-Life. Portal is set around 20 years after, which would make her 50 years old. We can tell that Chell is in her 20s so she must have been born early 200-s, and as the first annual bring-your-daughter-to-work day was early 200-s we can say that Chell is not the daughter of Cave and Caroline. The daughter of an employee is much more likely.

Okay. Terribly sorry for asking this, but... does anyone have a spare copy of this game that they could gift to me? My steam name is Mariox64. (Very sorry if this counts as begging)

Well yeah. Noone's going to spend so much money on someone they don't even know. £30, $45 or something like that.

But it seems while in stasis test subjects do not age.
This could mean back when GLaDOS effed up all of Aperture Science with neurotoxine, she still knew Chell was her daughter, and put her in stasis first so she survives, but then forgot about her and that she is her daughter.

EDIT: Would also explain why she looks how she does today in this video featuring Cave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYQ75ge3ezk
