SPECIAL EDIT 2: Got a few infected files. Not done yet, though...

And that's why scanning your computer at least once a week, if not daily, is important. Sure there are malware that can bypass a lot of that stuff, but at least it helps prevent some of them from getting worse.

But yeah. I'm not entirely sure how Flash Player works, but I think that it doesn't need a whole lot of resources in general. Sure, if you're one a low-end computer, things are going to slow down. However, I haven't noticed much of an increase in quality from some mid-low computers to the high-end ones, if at all.

In the end, there were only 5 infected files total, and they were removed completely. Will now open Last Legacy back up in a bit, but with very low hopes. (The solution just can't be that simple.)

EDIT: The infected files weren't the cause, but now I have a break in the case: When this "loading lag" occurs, I just noticed that whatever it is that stopped responding has it's CPU usage dropped right to 0%, but temporarily. Whatever the reason, Flash Player seems to temporarily be "non-existent" as it stops responding randomly, sometimes from idling. IDLING.
In fact, nearly EVERY time I start up a Flash game, this is what happens. (How come I never mentioned that? Wow.)

    1. Make sure all your drivers are up to date.

    2. Uninstall Adobe Flash Player, restart, and then reinstall it.
Hint: Download and run CCleaner after you uninstall Flash to ensure it is completely removed. Cleaning your computer regularly is also recommended.

If that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall Last Legacy (copy your levels to a text file or something, because you must remove ALL files related to LL).

If there is still an issue, try running LL in Safe Mode via the command prompt and see if the CPU usage is still excessive.

I nearly cried. It is too good to be true!!

It can't be!

I finally ♥♥♥♥ found what seems to have been the problem all these frickin' months: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... edbf78fe9f (Scroll down to the first of all replies, Method 2)

After disabling enhancements, all of the sudden... Last Legacy wouldn't stop responding at startup. Open/closed it several times, playtested my level in fullscreen mode, but that "fake crash"/"loading lag" seems to have disappeared.

My hopes have increased.

GOOD RIDDANCE, DAMN IT!

*calmed down* The only problem that now remains is Last Legacy's Level Designer taking up a lot of memory. (Maybe due to my RAM being so low?)

Triple J wrote:EDIT: OMG. The more changes I make to my level, the more my CPU usage and memory rise. In fact, it is sky-rocketing! Simply changing the level's dimensions sent the CPU to 96%. Why is Flash Player using so much ♥♥♥♥ memory and stuff!?!

Because Flash is a piece of ♥♥♥♥ resource hog known for causing CPU spikes and eating up the memory needed for processes. Depending on the game it may require more. My PC runs games fine, but if I load up LL, I'm met with lag. Unbearable lag, even at low quality, because of everything that goes on.

I speak from experience in a "Web Design" course where the teacher required I design a website with Flash, regardless of my knowledge of HTML. Everything we did in Flash, I coded at home in HTML, I even dabbled in CSS and Javascript. The result at the end of the year? I ran my project alongside the ones she made us make, and I never once had my fan blowing hot air in my face trying to cool itself, my CPU and RAM were decent.

Flash, to the best of my knowledge, is more or less a port of what was once Macromedia Shockwave? Uncertain, but I know that Adobe either bought Macromedia, or Macromedia became Adobe, and Shockwave is Flash's predecessor. If you think Flash is a hog, go run a Shockwave game.

And yes, Windows 8.1 is also a ♥♥♥♥ operating system that I sadly was forced to upgrade to. My laptop has been laggy as absolute ♥♥♥♥ since, and I'm tempted to revert to a pirated Windows 7, because this is ♥♥♥♥.

Run DxDiag in search on Windows, post your specs, I'm curious. I have 4GB ddr3 ram too.

Not sure why that makes it a bad thing. Then again, I know nearly nothing about computers.

Well I don't know much as well but AFAIK Intel is better than AMD at Processors. Also HP computers aren't a very good choice

honestly I was poking fun at all the rich kids who have like nvidia+++++ quickscoper edition and overly-powerful computers

But tbh HP isn't the best choice for computers, radeon is okay I guess.

Toshiba/Asus are good manufacturers if you're strapped on cash, regarding laptops anyway.
