GameShark got corrupted for the third or fourth time. That's fun. ._.

Praises to Renegade 64!

EDIT: Got a new one in the mail. How long will this one last me? :/

There are times I wish I still I had my instruction booklet.

I little bit ago I found out that the gerbil/hamster thing is actually known as Balom. Just one of many things I still need to figure out official names for. Meanwhile, I misused the Evil item all over the place as "Devil" item. XS

Does it matter whether or not I have an official name for everything I'm listing?

Shot in the dark here, have you tried emulators and ROMs for testing, in case you corrupt the cartridge? Would save a lot of money :)

The funny thing about that is it’s more useful testing codes on the GameShark, unless I can find a plugin that fixes the color effects and other graphics glitches on the ROM I use for emulation.

There are also inconsistencies when using some codes on the GameShark, such as image modifiers for immediately available objects and characters, etc. I literally had to craft such a specific combination of activators in order to achieve the desired effect on console. The trick won’t even work with anything other than characters.

You know when the GameShark number display thing spins rapidly when loading something, such as a game file? Yeah, it cannot perform constant writes during those processes. So when the GAME rewrites a value only available at certain points of the game, you usually cannot change it back in time.

Btw, I cannot tell which plugin I’m using right now - I’m waiting for my laptop to get fixed (it must of fallen on the floor one time too many).

EDIT: Fixed this post. It was rushed.

Also, my GameShark is getting closer to corruption, I know it.

Can I theoretically avoid the notorious glitch by deleting all added games but one? Will my codes not get messed up that way?

How am I still on-topic. Well, I plan to eventually repurchase the cord used to connect the GameShark to the PC. I lost my old one (which didn’t even come with the pins used to get that whatcha-call-it out). I’ll probably end up having to buy another GameShark by then. :/

EDIT2: Cringey post again.

What is WRONG with me? Is it so bad that I make both Hot Shots Golf AND Bomberman videos? Of course it is! They just don't go well together! Otherwise, it's still Cedar making them, so something HAS to be wrong with the videos!

I have devoted a whole year trying to make those interested happy, but nobody cares about my endeavor in the end. It's Cedar, it's a freaking inconsistent Youtube channel, it's just CRINGEY. Why BOTHER anymore? I have nothing else to live for anyway.

What's the point of promotion if nobody cares?

You, my friend, are being FAR too hard on yourself.

1. If it makes you happy (and isn't illegal or otherwise abusive) then who cares AT ALL what other people think about it. You've found something that makes you happy. There are people out there that would kill for just that aspect of this, no matter the details. Go. Be happy. And don't feel guilty about being happy, because that just doesn't make sense at all. Moreover, if you are good at it, then you benefit the world by developing that talent, no matter how that is accomplished. If you can't bring yourself to just do what makes you happy, then by all means just do what you are good at.

2. Who cares if it's inconsistent. We live in the digital age where people are only expected to have an attention span long enough to enjoy a Vine (RIP Vine), and a simple Google search will bring ANYTHING you want to your window. You have added to the wacky wonderfulness of the internet, and there's 7 billion of us - someone somewhere is SO glad they found you. I guarantee it.

3. if you want to change the characters and substitute them for each other at boot time, find out where the index is located in the source files (usually towards the beginning) that lists where the character files are stored (there MUST be an index), and change THAT. Then when it searches the index to find the character to load, it will read your value instead of the normal one and put what you want there, and it doesn't matter how fast it carries out that command.

4. if the GameSharks are dying, find out if it is hardware or software, and if it is software, find out if there is a way to wipe the device's memory and load a fresh copy = no more GameShark replacements (until you hit a hardware failure). Alternatively, if it's a hardware problem, look into learning enough about circuit design and electronics repair to be able to fix the thing yourself. A few capacitors, resistors, and rolls of solder must be cheaper than finding new GameSharks. AND you will be advancing your craft.

So. TL;DR, Everything is going to be fine. Do what makes you happy. There ARE people out there who care. Character pointer index. Learn 2 repair.
