Anytime Linkdroid. Anyhow, the hr tags essentially put a line across a post. This is good for breaking things up and is particularly good for breaking up sections in stories.

But what's the point of them having tags, if you can't really write anything in them.

I don't quite understand what you're saying. Are you suggesting that this:

is rather pointless because you can't type anything in between [hr] and [/hr]? True…it probably would make more sense for it to just be [hr] and leave it at that, but it's no big deal…it may have been easier for Runouw to do it the other way.

If I got what you said right, yes. It's because they're are two tags, and you usually write stuff between them.
