Do you know how Earthquakes Occur. Well what I'm going to tell you now is how they occur.

The Earth is made out of Plates.
Here is a picture of them.

Between the Plates are the Plate Boundaries. That is where Earthquakes occur.

Oh yeah and when a Earthquake happens, shockwaves go into plates but it get weaker when it goes further. That is why there are no Earthquakes in the UK

Here are signs of how a Earthquake is coming.

1. If you feel lots of Short Shakes, then a big one is going to come up

2. If there has not been a Short Shake for a while, then a big shake is coming your way

3. If animals act weirdly(e.g a dog houling), then a Earthquake is coming your way.

Remember this, it is 100% impossible to prevent a Earthquake, so if any of your signs are in your area, get prepared for a Earthquake!

EDIT : The Recent one in Haiti was in a Plate Boundary

How come the Dom. Rep. was affected by the Haiti EQ? I am glad that my relatives in P.R. weren't affected. :D

Right before an earthquake or tsunami there is tons of noise that is in audible to the human ear, sound that is too low to be heard by humans is called infra-sound. The reason dogs , elephants , horses, cat, etc act weird and run away is because they already know that a natural disaster is going occur and are trying to find a safe place.

Cool thing about Colorado. Worst that can happen is a blizzard, but we're used to that. We don't get any earthquakes, water related disasters, rare tornadoes, and no volcanoes or such.

Over here in England, there are no 'Nature Disasters' here. The only ones are Floods and that is pretty much it.
