Sequels - Suck

Sequels suck.
Most do.

But one thing caught my eye:

Boogeyman 2.
The first one sucked a** but the second one actually had a plot to it.
Why do sequels suck though?

Sequels don't always suck. Some notable sequels--Halo 2, Uncharted 2, God of War 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64 (The list would go on if I continue with Mario), Metroid Prime, The Legend of Zelda: OoT, and so on and so forth.

I can't really say any good movie sequels, and since I've never seen Boogey Man 2 (or 1), I can't agree with you on that one.

Bioshock 2 makes this a lie.
Men In Black 2........makes this true.
Iron Man 2 makes this a lie.
Dead Rising 2 might be better.
Dead Space 2 might be better..... wait wha?
Saints Row 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Assassins Creed II, Fallout 3, Pretty much half of the worlds games, movies, and books prove this topic to be a false statement in itself.
The Scar-H and M-16 prove this topic to be a lie, and you can't change that either.
Even Gun Adaptions prove this to be wrong.


Sequels can be a 50/50 thing, saying all Sequels suck is over-generalization, it's like saying all Runouw Users are pure nintendo fans, meaning we have never had contact with RPG's (Excluding SMRPG and the M&L series), FPS, and any other Third Party slew of games.


Which is definitely a lie, I'm pretty sure sackboy isn't from Nintendo.

Sorry, the first two lines of this topic just mislead me to believe that you thought all sequels suck.
As in, everything that's a sequel sucks.

I would not say sequels suck. Like others have said, it varies.

What really sucks are movie adaptations of books. I think I have only seen one or two movies that have done it right.

Yeah, 70% of the sequels out there are really quite crap.

There are, of course, quite a few exceptions. Ridder's list was only a segment.

Hell... let's see if I can find one off the top of my head. A-HA! Aliens was better than Alien, if you ask me.

…are…you…kidding me? I skimmed the book Eragon (my brother's an avid fan of the series), then saw the movie. The movie…sucked. The sequels can't get any worse. And they probably won't get any better either. But that's off-topic.

Don't forget that Dark Knight was a sequel folks.
