Teenager Stereotypes? Or is it just me?

Postby MessengerOfDreams » February 25th, 2010, 10:05 pm

Is it just me, or are teenagers negatively stereotyped? On commercials and media, and we always end up on news, 99% of the time as bad guys. Is it just me though?

You're right, but based on my first-hand experience in my high school, teenagers are often negative in their behavior, their actions, so on and so forth, so I believe the stereotype to actually be fairly accurate.

I don't disagree that it is offensive to the minority that does not fit the mold. But I agree that a majority fit the stereotype. Maybe I'm just cynical, but that's what I believe. I've seen too much to think otherwise.

You know what annoys me, Mexican sterotypes , most people say that Mexicans are all on U.S. soil illeagally and that the only job they can get is janitor or construction worker. I'm not Mexican, but I am Hispanic. I say that everyone should be proud of their heritage, and not slam other heritages and religions.

It's parents.
Well, mine atleast.
Mine ALWAYS ask me EVERY fricking night if I did my homework.
When i don't answer or say no my dad makes me go to my room, I usually don't.

My parents make me so mad, but my true form will take flight once I leave my house for good.

Eh. >_> I don't care what people think of me as. If they think I'm obnoxious and rude, (which sometimes I can be,) then fine. :) I know who I am, and if they don't like it, they can GTFO.

Also, with the stereotypes, I don't care. Again, I'm proud, and you can make fun of me for being asian. : D Heck, I make fun of myself for being Asian, as well as other Asians. It's all fun and games. There people who I can't deal with are the ones who get offended when the words aren't even being spoken to them. Like white people who get offended when a black person is being called names. >_> You can't say ♥♥♥♥ if you're not of the stereotype. It just makes you seem stupid.

Wait a minute.....you say this like you are an adult MOY....I thought you were a teen. D:

*does the hand balancing trick to try and find the answer*
*both hands kill each other*

Ah well.....they don't help much anyway. D:

Anyway, not all are like that. I'm mildly negative. When angry, I may be negative and swear, but I'm not THAT negative.....well, maybe a little. o.O

And TBG.......just live with them. All teens think their parents are monsters, when really they are just trying to help you get ready for life and get a good education. You're parents send you to your room just to get you to finish your homework. Trust me, it is all for the future. ;)
