A possible reason could be that this serves as a very supportive creative/project-making environment. We can collaborate with others here and get a nice social environment. We can all hang out with each other, and pit ourselves Against each other in contests to satisfy our competitive spirit. The rating system in the level portal also supports competition for the top spot. It gives us a place to express ourselves without being ridiculed for our lack of succinctness in our self-expression. Our imagination and creative spirit can roam free and get boosted. It helps our Self-esteem and social Skills (for those of us who lack them, myself included.)
Also, it gives us a place to look back at after A time and see how we might have chAnged and I find that very nostalgic and satisfying.
