I finally got a chance to read through this. Doram is literally the only person on Earth to make farts beautiful. I can't help but feel that was his secondary intent.

With all of my disappointment and low expectations of humanity nowadays, there's also some hope and something to look forward to with people like him.

Optimism is imperative. If you do not believe that things can get better, they never will. I try to take the time and adjust my feelings whenever I get too pessimistic and lose faith in humanity. I remind myself of all the good I've seen, and the good I've done, and all of the people who still need help, and I know that I cannot stop helping my fellow man, otherwise I am contributing to their self-destruction.

I wouldn't say optimism is required. If you've reached the point of nihilism, that dictates against suicide as well.

For a pessimist he's pretty optimistic.

Honestly though, if anyone can give hope to the world Doram, it's you. Such an inspirational person. You certainly helped me and from what I can see you've helped many others too. I really value people like you. Thank you for what you've done for us.
