Anonymous: saviours or CIA project?

Postby Bogdan » July 22nd, 2013, 7:33 am

Here is an interesting subject I saw nobody disscussing about it: the group Anonymous. Now, I think most of you if not all have a good impression about those guys, but I'm starting to be skeptic about them. They claim to be protecting human rights and the liberty, but all they can do is mostly to earn the simpathy of people from the internet by hacking "hated stuff" and defending the "cool things". Not only once I heard about them hacking several institutions' databases and either making them public either manipulating them. Now let's be serious, if this group (even if it's a big one) bothers any gouverment or institution from the world they would have been caught and punished till now and I don't think they stopped at only one country or institution. I've heard rumours that "Anonymous" might simply be a project started by CIA to see how they can get the love of people easily and maybe control them after. This might not seem logical for some of you, but it made me question about them a bit (that doesn't mean I believe they are either good either bad, I just want to hear some more opinions), so what do you guys say?

I'm serious there, I see most of people "admire" Anonymous for what they are doing.

Well, it all boils down to Anonymous pulling a Snowden stunt. While there are probably not any C.I.A agents involved in Anon, what they basically preach and practice is the publicising of confidential information and the change of corrupt government/company acts.

In all seriousness, is Anonymous doing any more harm than what the NSA is doing? With light on the subject, we can see that they are also doing wrong, of course. But is posting personal information, compromising accounts, and releasing documents as bad as the government quite knowingly infringing upon our rights of privacy by wiretapping our phones, videotaping us without consent, and basically listening into our personal lives?

So basically, who would you rather have stealing all your personal information: the government, or a bunch of hackers?

I'd like nobody to steal my personal information, that's why it's called personal. Plus they wouldn't have what to do with my personal information as I am a simple citizien who yet has my personal bussines.

The hackers claim to be doing it all for good. Since we have to give all of our information to the government the moment you are brought unto the world, you're not safe anyways. It's a lose-lose situation for the lot of us. So the answer is, you're ♥♥♥♥ as it is, why should it matter?

Meh. Anonymous is weird, one moment they're doing something good then another moment they're hacking an innocent website.

Karyete: Seriously, what is your problem? And not only that, you fail to even acknowledge you might be in some wrong here.
Karyete: Oooh it's you? Hello. Feel free to drop this right now. You're going to make yourself look like an idiot.
Karyete: We don't want to hear your opinion at this stage.

Anon is against government, yet wont force their view onto a country. They leave America as it is but attack other servers. And they manipulate their network via proxies leaving the hacker untraceable.

However, here is an interesting view. Remember OPBlackout? Anon was behind that somewhat. Anon members neverreveal their identity. And nyone can join.

If th CIA were behind it, why does the public join?

And those who say they are in it...are they?
