UK Social Services take a child from the mother's womb

Postby ~MP3 Amplifier~ » December 2nd, 2013, 12:10 pm

Words cannot express the anger I felt just reading this,
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ ... vices.html

I know this probably happens a lot, but still. It's absolutely outrageous.
Perhaps it was an absolute last resort, I unfortunately don't know the details of this story. But whether it was a last resort or not, no mother should ever have a caesarean without consent. It should always be a choice, no matter the circumstances.

Another link just to back me up there,

Feel free to discuss this.

She said the council would first have to find “that she was basically unfit to make any decision herself” and then shown there was an acute risk to the mother if a natural birth was attempted.
An Essex county council spokesman said the local authority would not comment on ongoing cases involving vulnerable people and children.

"She was basically unfit to make any decision herself"?

They clearly couldn't make a better one after taking the child away from her. I'm not too familiar with this story either, but from what I've read I can conclude that while it may have been in her best interest to have had her child saved, they really should've given the child back to either the family friend in America or back to Italy. Keeping her in Britain is just plain wrong, and is the grounds of abduction. Plus Italy's a pretty nice place...

Are the Essex people responsible for this officials?

No matter what the aftermath is, the fact remains that forcibly sedating a woman and then taking her baby out is a horrible, horrible thing to do

That's exactly what I thought MK. I thought this kind of ♥♥♥♥ was illegal anyway? How ironic that the police actually helped decide on doing this. :S

Ah, this will most likely turn out into a happy ending. The baby is going to have to be turned over to his family sometime soon, otherwise Britain will get in a helluva lot of trouble with Italy. Then every idiot who got involved in this incident will learn to pay attention and not pull this sort of ♥♥♥♥ again. Though if Essex has made a whole lot of stupid decisions in the past, then this event might ruin them forever. But either way, this shouldn't end badly.

What they did was still pretty ♥♥♥♥ up though.
