Heh. I wondered that too, actually.

But either way, no big surprise. The people themselves might get caught, who knows.
Expect something cool here soon!

The thing about the Pirate Bay, though, is that sometimes cracks and patches users make for games are released on the Pirate Bay, and are the only way to retrieve them.

Take for example my PS2. it has been broken for over a year and I lack the BIOS for it to emulate on my laptop the games I have. Now, the Pirate Bay has it. But if the Pirate Bay gets shut down, what do I go to? They don't sell PS2's anymore in stores. And the convenience of playing on PC is great.

Oh well. If it does go down, anyone who does use their site has alternatives. Not very good alternatives, but decent nonetheless. I'm pretty sure that there are other trackers used for torrents, but considering that their trackers hold the majority of the seeds, things would get a little wonky.

I only recently used their site though to redownload Photoshop CS6 onto my new laptop I got from bestbuy, there's no way I'm getting a whole new laptop without that on it.
Plus the new thing that their doing which turns Photoshop into a subscription service, yeah, definitely not going to go into a monthly fee service for photo editing software which I only use when I finish a painting or if I want to make a new signature or something.

I know that this post was a long time ago, but I actually found the PS2 BIOS online through google pretty easily. Once you know what to look for, it's pretty easy to get it. I actually planned on emulating PS2 games on my laptop, mostly because my console is getting really old and I don't know how long it'll still work. Needless to say, it's no longer plugged up at all, and my main controller is ruined from constant Guitar Hero III gameplay. Those L and R buttons always collapse inside the controller when I'm playing just a little too quick. :P

It's not gonna go down, it has too many supporters for anyone to actually do anything about it. If it goes down, someone else is gonna take control all over again.
