Stoic here, not stoic there.

Postby CedarBranch » April 4th, 2014, 12:15 pm

For some reason, I'm stoic with whatever I post in messages. As in, whatever I post, I'm not feeling anything. I just have a blank expression on my face, especially when it looks like I'm complaining, cursing, crying, being dramatic, etc.
But outside of the forums, I'm not stoic.

This confuses me.

I'm pretty opposite, if I say I'm mad/annoyed/sad/anything in my posts then I am.
(also if I say words like ♥♥♥♥ don't take that like I'm mad, it's to put emphasis on words)

Karyete: I don't have anything to say to you, I've been deliberately trying to not offend you for years, actually, but apparently everything I say to you is wrong. You come across as so aggressive that you successfully intimidated me into not wanting to talk to you
Karyete: Seriously, what is your problem? And not only that, you fail to even acknowledge you might be in some wrong here.
Karyete: Oooh it's you? Hello. Feel free to drop this right now. You're going to make yourself look like an idiot.
Karyete: We don't want to hear your opinion at this stage.
Karyete: You're not getting any apology, especially after now.
Karyete: You can stay up on your high horse, continue to twist the truth and act like an absolute child all you want. I refuse to give respect to a man who right now is picking up a dropped argument because he simply cannot fathom the idea that he might be in the wrong.

I smile all the time, unless I'm reading something very upsetting. Dunno why I smile, I guess its a defence mechanism.

Just being on the internet tends to harden quite a number of people's emotions while they're online. You see people talking (writing) about how when they find something funny on the internet, they'll just exhale a little more loudly than normal when they'd laugh if told in real life. And then there's the whole anonymity part of it. People don't think of their actions nearly as much on the internet as they do in real life. I feel like the majority does feel like their emotions are definitely dampened online as opposed to more excited and vibrant reactions in the real world. Cusses tend to take on a less severe and more casual connotation, people joke about things they never would dare to say in real life, et cetera. (I'm not speaking for everyone when I say this but mainly for the people I've encountered and interacted with.)

As for Amp, everyone has a resting face. When I'm not showing any other emotion, my face tends to fall into a grimacing expression. Your muscles pull your mouth upwards into a smile.

Empathy powers allow me to somehow feel I'm talking to real people when I'm on the internet (yeah, you guys exist. I think. :3 Maybe I can word that better... I feel the same about you guys than I would people I know in real life). I get happy, angry, sad, scared, and whatnot.

Please stop scaring me...
