Syntheteic meat made from stem cells

From what I understood, the meat of future will be grown in jars. I find it both interesting and disturbing and personally I would wish to see if this project would have success, but personally I wouldn't it this kind of meat. I personally grow my own animals at home, and having a pretty big yard and feeding them with fresh and also home-grown food makes me see an actual difference between the chicken that I buy from the market and the one from my yard, the taste is different, the chickens (if alive both) look different, usually because the mass-grown ones don't get much individual attention than a home grown one. Now this? "Fake" meat grown in jars are supposed to be an alternative to our everyday meat? I hope not. At some point there was also mentioned replacing meat with tofu, in previous topics I already showed my disagree with this kind of stuff as I strongly believe we, as humans, an omnivore species are supposed to eat a diversity of food, not only veggies, not only meat, not only eggs and diary, but a tiny bit of everything. I personally am a huge fan of meat and I am a pro-natural proteins guy, but I wonder would they make this meat, let's say not better, but at least as good as the one on the market right now? I ate genetic-engineered veggies, everyone did, but for me they had no taste at all and unfortunatelly the market is full with this kind of stuff and I do believe the meat on the market is not entirely natural, but I have bigger doubts with the jar-grown one.

Any other opinions?

I think most people are going to take a purist perspective on this (myself included), but hey, this could honestly be a huge help in the future. If it has the same nutritional content and stuff as the real meat, I assume it's safe to consume. Even though we're all scared of it, I kind of really hope that we can develop more stuff like this so we can eventually be an entirely self-sustaining species instead of relying on the resources of the planet.

Keep the chemicals and experiments out and I will support.

But I think the people here in Texas would rather go vegan first, seeing as part of our industry is the meat market and farming.

Some species are specially breeded and maintained for our food, now I don't think that jar-grown meat is going to entirely replace the natural one, but if it's going go, then we might at some point deal with an overpopulation of domestic animals, plus imagine if we'd release this cows and pigs in the wild, they won't instantly go feral, thus making their lives harder, not to mention we will also have to provide food for them in order to keep the species alive.

On the other hand, it may actually help developing countries with hunger problems, now I don't think they will all go "yay jar meat from the civilisation", but it's still a start, however there is a think that I'm pretty sure it well make this either harder either impossible: money. Some people may see potential in this synthetic meat and turn it into an entire industry for making money instead of "donating it".

Overpopulation of domestic animals...?

If anything I'm worried about the state of domestic animal numbers due to possible dwindling spaces for farming/nature and the amount of people now consuming calories a day. Come to think of it, calorie consumption and people eating have both gone up over the years.

This is beside the point but I just want to point out that farming is basically destroying nature. They're not really synonyms at all. If we make this synthetic meat stuff a bigger thing in the future, we might be able to restore the natural habitats that we've destroyed through agriculture.
