From what I understood, the meat of future will be grown in jars. I find it both interesting and disturbing and personally I would wish to see if this project would have success, but personally I wouldn't it this kind of meat. I personally grow my own animals at home, and having a pretty big yard and feeding them with fresh and also home-grown food makes me see an actual difference between the chicken that I buy from the market and the one from my yard, the taste is different, the chickens (if alive both) look different, usually because the mass-grown ones don't get much individual attention than a home grown one. Now this? "Fake" meat grown in jars are supposed to be an alternative to our everyday meat? I hope not. At some point there was also mentioned replacing meat with tofu, in previous topics I already showed my disagree with this kind of stuff as I strongly believe we, as humans, an omnivore species are supposed to eat a diversity of food, not only veggies, not only meat, not only eggs and diary, but a tiny bit of everything. I personally am a huge fan of meat and I am a pro-natural proteins guy, but I wonder would they make this meat, let's say not better, but at least as good as the one on the market right now? I ate genetic-engineered veggies, everyone did, but for me they had no taste at all and unfortunatelly the market is full with this kind of stuff and I do believe the meat on the market is not entirely natural, but I have bigger doubts with the jar-grown one.
Any other opinions?
