Oh look, Kary is a super veteran now! Congraz!
Back on-topic, suicides like Robin's are the worst since in a state of pure depression and melancholy it even appears to be a kind of release, yet it breaks my heart, especially when considering he was also a comedian, this makes it even more terrible.

No wonder I've been seeing a lot about Robin Williams lately on Youtube, never actually knew what all the fuss was about since I didn't bother to watch the videos themselves.
It's a real shame it had to be suicide too...

Aside from everything else going on, I was a big fan of his and also very sad to see it come to this for him. He will be missed.
I have learned, in the ensuing days, that on top of his TV show being cancelled and having suffered a relapse of his drug abuse, he had apparently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and I would have to admit that I would agree with the sentiment that for a man of his considerable intelligence, the prospects of watching all that ability spiral away is phenomenally horrifying. I can't say that I ever approve of suicide as the best option in any situation, but I can certainly see him, nearing the end of his productive life, coming to the conclusion that it was the preferable path.
I mourn the loss of what good he could still have done for the world, had he chosen a more natural end, but I also celebrate all the the good he has already done. The joy he has brought, as well as the causes he has championed. The world is a better place for having had him in it, and that is the best any of us can hope for at the end of our lives.
Rest well, sir, and better luck to you next life.

Doram's posts always impress me. I was actually just going to say that, surprisingly, his suicide seems perfectly reasonable to me now. I couldn't imagine the pain he must have been going through, but he's left such a good impact on this world. Thank you, Robin Williams, for all the laughs and all the smiles.
