Hey, probably some of you saw parents posting pictures of their babies/children on the beach, with no clothing, bathing or so on. Some of you may find it cute, some disturbing, but just saw this on Imgur and caught my attention.

Now, I always felt a little disturbed by that, I mean ok now it may be your little baby and you may find it cute to post that kind of pictures on social sites, however when they grow up, maybe they won't be that thankful that several people saw that kind of material. Personally I'd feel ashemed and bothered if there were pictures like that with me, but anyway never put the problem with pedophiles, not until now anyway.

I would personally feel really disturbed, knowing that pictures of my child would be on the internet for obscene amusament of others. I would certanly not want my child to be the source of "love" for a pedophile, but some people's reaction really really annoy me. This were taken from comments:

God damn, I know you love your child and probably want to share it to family or friends, but there are more personal ways, a letter a real life album or even an email, but not public spaces. Furthermore I think some don't realise how bad can be someone " beating his/her meat to a photo of my infant" even if you don't see it, feel it or hear of it. What if at some point the child finds out all that, hm? What if he'll be really really fustrated with the idea that he was "material" for some people's really guilty pleasures. And it doesn't have to become all that, you as a parent should protect your child physically, mentally and online aswell. What do you think about it? It's a really delicate subject, but I want to see your opinions. As a matter of fact I know people who post that kind of stuff on facebook, be it of their children or them when they were little.

I really wish for the day when parents actually know what it means to look out for their children someday. They don't have to be sheltered, but man, those people oughta learn to have some control over their kids. Similarly, on the topic of parents being absolutely horrible at their job, look at all the kids on Call of Duty and ♥♥♥♥. A large majority of those kids that I meet talk crap about me/other people and just don't even know how to make a sentence without including a swear, the n word, or without being downright rude.

I never really heard of this being a big thing, but then again, I never use social media. I do understand parents wanting to capture memories of their children, and they might be alright with seeing their child in little to no clothing, (they did have to raise them, so they've probably already seen it) but at some point people have to realize that it is their child's life and body they are putting out there, not their own. Plus the questionable legality doesn't really make it look any more favorable.

That's also an issue. Look I do actually swear, maybe a lot than it's necessary, but if I do that, I'm genuinely angry and that's my how to ease the pression, not because "hey just learned to use curse words". I met several idiots like that on CS:GO and I simply block them from the beginning, rather than respond and share my IQ with theirs. I don't give a crap if I lost the round >.> I play for fun, gtfo.

As an individual of course I don't like being told what to do, but damn some parents need to take some action. Everytime I open facebook, my face turns red...from all the facepalms I did. Friends making a selfie in the bathtub (I'm not lying, I saw that and the picture is still around, won't post it for obvious reasons tho), selfie in the bathroom (saw tons of it, like really really tons, I don't know why this is a thing) or simply posting or "liking" material that they simply shouldn't. A classmate asked me once to help him with a problem with his browser (he isn't quite smart, but that's another story) and his browser was "automagically" open on porn. Like thanks, I was really interested in that.

Probably parents nowadays are just like "No, don't have time for you, just go eat some McDonald's and play on your computer/console/etc, we will talk about you later." And of course, the child comes in contact with a lot of bad habits, just because "the other cool kids do". Smoking is just an example, I have my bad habids too, but I don't do it in public places. As a non-smoker everytime I smell tabacco I feel like vomiting, but again who cares about "the unpopular idiots". Here's a real life example I met. Once I went to the mountain for a weekend and we rent some rooms in a pension. Of course, it belonged to a family and they have a 12 years old child. His parents are mostly away, his father having work in the city, his mother in other places and his grandparents around the house, as they also have a farm. He invited me to see the stuff he has and out of all, his favourite game was a Xbox wrestling one, can't remember the name tho, but lots and lots of violence. He also couldn't control his mouth and he just open it without thinking about anything else. I asked him to stop as my 10 year old brother isn't really familiar with all those swearing and explicit language, he didn't do it and instead offered to "teach" him some vocabulary. Gee, but worse of all the parents were so idiotic that they even bought him a gun (a one that fires plastic little balls, works with pressure, probably a self-protection one, but again 12 years old and a gun is simply retarded, personally I would have announced the police) and asked me if I want to see something "cool". Well he just proceeed and shot several birds, a cat in the eye and even chased the cat to "end the pain" he caused. Dear idiotic parents, you don't love your child if you simply buy all the crap he requets, instead you may even get him in trouble or create a monster out of it and it will be all your fault because of not thinking at the right moment. That was kind of off-topic, but felt like needed to share.

This is exactly the reason why my parents never shared personal photos of me as a baby. As a kid I didn't understand but as I got older it clicked and I was like "ohh...aahh that was awkward...".

Its okay if its through e-mail to a close friend or another family member, or its shared through a private photo sharing account, but not in public. I would never do that to my child.

Taking pictures of your kids and keeping them for a photo album to look back on all of the memories later in life or whatever is fine (and maybe to cause a little humiliation, like what amp said :p ), but no, because of the way society has constructed itself, it's absolutely not okay to go and share all of those with the world. I think if some of the dumb taboos the world has been introduced to had never been around, this problem might not exist, but there's no way to change that. If people are actually doing this, that's awful.

Some people are just careless.

Either that, or the people posting these things are just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ deliberately trying to drag down the world. The thing that comes to mind (partially because it affects me, a lot) is the whole vaccine-autism scandal thing. If the guy hadn't published his "study," we would still have the occasional skeptic around, but people would generally be a lot safer. Back on topic, you might say that some of the teenagers posting obscene pictures or whatever are probably just not thinking, but I think it's because the whole "think before you post" thing is preached waaaaay too much. It's made out to be some omnipresent law of the internet for everyone to follow, but kids are starting to take it less seriously or completely ignoring it, even intentionally thwarting what the organizations trying to protect children across the world are trying to accomplish. Parents doing this are another story. I don't pay enough attention to social media to really talk about it much, (neither am I a parent, lul,) but my thought is that the parents posting these pictures of their kids naked or in the bath or whatever are just immature. Posting ♥♥♥♥ on facebook and whatever all day and letting your kids do stupid things just so that you can "capture the moment" (as opposed to just letting them be a kid and do those things I guess, not taking a picture of every silly moment or diaper change or whatever the hell people do these days) is the opposite of being responsible for your kids. Did they actually consider how posting these things might affect their children in the future, or other people? For one thing, it's hardly even legal (but that would bring me back to the taboo thing). In turn, it encourages illegal activity and unhealthy habits (sexuality is a lot different from other things, I know) for other people you might not be thinking about. Things that they might really hate and might try to seek help for, but things that might still be there.

Sorry, didn't get the Balloons thing at all, either the english is too complex for me, either something else, but if you would care to explain a little that would help. Read the previous story aswell in the hope of understanding, but again not successful.

Ok so there is one really weird girl in my school. Never interracted with her, so don't know much about, but from her former classmates I heard she is kind of a ♥♥♥♥♥. I heard at some point she had a boyfriend and they broke-up and she decided to try to "attract" him back. How? By sending pictures of her naked, her breats and butt in a phone message. In the end, the pictures were sent to several people from my school, one of my classmates included and at least half of our class saw the forwarded-message aswell. Jesus damn, I think the mind of these people just seem to stop working normally.

Just popping my head in because I am already tired from a long post in another thread, but one of the problems is that bad decisions pop up even in the best of arguments. Let's humiliate our children. How is that a good or acceptable thought? Let's allow our children to do wrong and stupid things because it's funny. How is THAT a good or acceptable thought?

I might be entirely missing the point here but it's 2:17 AM so don't mind me.

Without repeating anything else everyone has already mentioned at this point, I really don't have a lot to say.

Though I will say that if the internet has taught me anything, it's that no matter what, there will always be people out there making stupid decisions and coming up with stupid ideas. That doesn't always justify their choices of course, but some parents never bother to understand that publicly sharing pictures of their kid in the nude has much bigger consequences than they think, and there probably won't be any shortage of those people either.
