Bog, just a lil question.

Was bribery involved in your teacher getting his job?

I won't say so, it's not the only case like this in Ro, people here take religion seriously (apparently) and would wish their children to take religion classes (unless they are not orthodox or they are thinking ones). His son, also a priest also teaching the same stuff here is more open minded on the other hand, had lessons with him too and he didn't view this things like this one did. (For instance, while still being against homosexual people, he suggested to accept them and "pray" for them, not just ignore or reject them)

"God Himself is the proof of His existence".

That's the suckiest argument he could have ever used. He's pretty much saying God exists because God exists. There's so many things he could have said...

In my religion class, we were taught about various religions, not only christianity, and we had to investigate and whatnot, and once I was in a debate where I had to prove God's existence.

YES. I WAS SUPPOSED TO PROVE GOD'S EXISTENCE. xD The other team had it easy as hell, proving God doesn't exist is a lot easier. I still conjured up tons of proof. And epically enough, a lot of it wasn't from the Bible (this is the part where Xero would say I need the Bible to prove God's existence. Well whatever), but actually based on logical reasoning, based on the way the universe is, and based on scientific facts.

...It was weird.

We just reached a consensus that we can't prove whether God actually exists or not, but the fact I actually had somewhat convincing arguments was neat. I might write about them at another time.

Then again, Religion was mostly a way to raise your overall average score, and if you wanted you could just skip it. :P

Back to the topic, there's TONS of different Christian doctrines. Mostly because they can't agree on how to interpret the Bible, and other things. I think it would be better if we could all be just one big family of Christians united by the fact that we all believe in Christ and God. But oh well, now we have people arguing about who's the one who's right about how God should be praised. And that sucks.

So yeah. I dunno what else to say, I don't really feel like I can contribute much to this topic. I was raised and baptized Catholic, but never confirmed. For now, I believe in God in my own peculiar way, I guess. It's probably better than spinning a roulette to try and guess which religion is the true religion. I'm not sure.

I'm aware of all the bad things that have been done throughout history in the name of religion (not only christianity, btw). Like I had said in the Discussion Corner, religion has often been used as a way to control people. I guess that steers me away from organized religion a bit. I mean come on, mormons and Jehovah's witnesses drop by your house to convince you to join their religions! xD

So I dunno what to say to you Bogdan. Just that it sucks that you're not allowed to believe in what you want to believe.

So I got bored and started rambling for a bit:

Assume, for a moment, that there is definite proof/evidence that God or any other deity you like exists (or does not exist).

But wait. What definition of this deity are you using? Every person will have their own interpretation, including these "brainwashed" people Bog is describing. There is a different God, a different Yahweh, Allah, whatever you like, for every person, and these people can never express exactly what the deity is to any other person. There will always be some margin of error, and nobody can ever know the "true" one. This goes for atheism, as well. What are you trying to disprove? A single person's God, which you can't ever fully understand and know everything you need to disprove it, or all Gods ever invented, which you could never even hope to do? Nothing is ever definite except for in one's own mind.

There's proof that you can't prove what you don't know. Unless you're a solipsist, in which case you need to remember that the other people you've imagined might not also be solipsists, so don't go shoving your opinion down everyone else's throat.

Actually I'm glad we're not one giant ♥♥♥ family. If history's taught us anything, trying to please everyone and force everyone under one religion never works.

If the entire world was marked as United States of America, there WILL be a Rebellion somewhere along the lines.

The best way is to do as much as you can to please everyone, but those you can't please don't piss them off too much.
Expect something cool here soon!

If you read the first post (the quotes mostly) you'd see that it's promoted not to interpret it (which in his opinion would lead to more sects and that's bad for him), nor we should discuss about this (well see, we were just supposed to parrot all this things in his opinion). I don't agree with this, and fortunatelly I see a lot of people that don't either (even some priests, fortunatelly?), but the thing is there are enough no-thinkers to listen and record all he says and just hitting the "play" button without thinking about that. I naturally like to argue, and religion is a domain I argue the most in, but hell some people cannot even argue with this, if I close them with a question they just tell me "Go ask a priest, he can respond (or will respond better)". Hell I ain't asking a priest, I'm asking you idiot, if you believe or not in this, give me a reason for that or why do you think your opinion is better than mines. 90% of people I argued with just told me that, a hell lot of them also didn't read the Bible or respect the "laws" the church forces us to swallow just because "God" not because they trully want. (For real, I just heard someone moan "God, it's wednestday, cannot eat meat again, damnit", seriously, if you don't like that, don't do it, it's better to simply eat meat instead of respecting a piece of ♥♥♥♥ rule that won't come from yourself).

I was raisied and baptized orthodox, and I was one of those people to record and "play" things without thinking and I just wanted to prove people that didn't agree with this wrong, but when started my quest I realised "hell, some of them were right all along" and thus made me question and then become an atheist, still searching for a religion to fit me, or if not, just accept myself as a non-believer.

That's not really what I thought of... Maybe just stop dissing other doctrines and accept that we're not that different, and maybe have a barbecue every now and then. :3

Also, isn't the USA trying to take over the world already? I mean, you're playing World Cop, you pretty much own the United Nations, you're the leading cause of globalization, you have tons and tons of weapons and nukes, you get into other people's wars and steal some oil while you're at it *gets sniped*

As for not being able to question your faith... I see questioning one's faith as a good way to make it stronger. Helps you reflect on things.

As I heard, this may happen with new generations, not you so you're protected from those blasphemies by god, but pray for your children, younger brothers and sisters, nephews and so on not to turn gay just because of our sick school system. Unlike some people claim, it's not scientifically proven that homosexualism is genetic, it is just a matter of choice for those who not listen to God's word. To be honest, I don't believe any science man ever said that, but instead the European Parlament, who is rather full of homosexuals itself, want to create chaos among our children's mind.

Oookay, I love topics like this. These are the hot ones. Let's get to it.

First off, I like how he brings up they will encourage sexual acts before marriage, but I would like to bring this up: my parents were both raised Southern Baptist, no sexual education courses. They were taught to be abstinent until marriage. Now do the math...I was born October 2nd, 1995, and my parents were married April 8th, 1995. The child in the womb will stay for a course of 9 months on average. That being said, I was only in the womb for less than six months...so what happened three months before the marriage? I'll tell you. It's the same thing that made my sister and her ex-husband rush into marriage. Primitive impulse. The desire as a species to reproduce our genes and further the survival of the H. sapien.

Now then, second point he gives is that it will increase the urges of homosexual activities. Well, yes, sodomy is a sin, but tell me, how many couples will openly tell you what they do in the bedroom? I'm not going to go into detail, because the rules and ♥♥♥♥, but it's not just gays that play "nail in the board".

Also, pray tell, if he could explain the absence of desire and impulse in many, or the homosexual desires frequent in animals and humans? There is a difference between celibacy and asexuality//demisexuality, where one is the choice to remain distant from sexual desire and the other is the lack thereof. There is even proof that it isn't a choice, but rather it is in relation to genetics in some cases.

Your teacher sounds like a fun man. I'd love to sit down and talk to him one day.
