The problem I see is the ambiguity of this statement. Who is 'they'? The terrorists out the comic artists?

Oops, "information" doesn't have a plural

I've wanted to say "I have more information which confirms my point of view"

Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

These are just general principles I try to follow when rating. Sometimes I don't leave a further comment when rating, most times I do, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask further.

Humanity has proven once again that it doesn't understand satires.

I'm often wondering how these things actually start on the planning level.
I mean. I never felt the intention, nor knowing someone who'd go over to some friends or whatever and tell them about my hate towards a magazine. Furthermore I wouldn't feel the need to even go to the magazine's origin place, planning a terroristic action is even more idiotic. Actually going for the action tops idiocy and should deserve a very own word, actually.

In short. I'm starting an ant campaign. They're at least not hating satires, right?

The way you're speaking, Shroom, makes me think that you're saying we need to mind what we say in case of terrorists. And as an American who doesn't give two ♥♥♥♥ about any flag and gags at all of the overt jingoism in America, i hate saying this, but... I'm pretty sure that means the terrorists win.

Of course, if Charlie Hebdo (and any other satirical magazines) stops making provocative and hatred-fueling cartoons (which I really hope), these terrorists can record this as a victory, while in fact they can record every succeeded attack as a "victory". It's sad, but this attack has been truly provoked over the years, and now the camel's back has broken. As ghastly and abominable this outrage is, it's no wonder as well. And to avoid further bloodshed, Charlie Hebdo should really back-pedal and make cartoons about any things but not religion and especially not that blunt. Like I've said, things like Mohammed with a bomb exceed the limits. And these limits aren't only defined by extremists.

There are more picture's like this, take a look if you are interested.

Religion is something you should follow, if you wish to follow, not something to die or to kill for. We discussed this in the history class today and my teacher was sharing pretty much the same opinion that Shroom does. However, I never read Charlie Hebdo, but I don't believe they were trully to the extreme point. The idea of satire is to poke fun of something as far as I know, and as Raz said, what kind of coward should you be to fear satire? I mean something trully offensive and that would deserve hate is if they actually implied that Mohammed and islamists are filty barbarian ♥♥♥♥, but they didn't do that, did they? I've seen a lot of caricatures about kings, politicians and so on, but never saw anybody react that aggresive to those, now why would they do that over a religion? Especially when most religions claim to fight for peace and harmony? Also related to the picture, killing those people doesn't solve the situation, instead it makes it even harder for other muslims that now some people will accuse them even more of being bloodthirsty. They throwed more dirt on islam's reputation rather than making it better.

Okay Shroom, so people making fun of Obama and making satirical cartoons about him means that Democrats should take up arms and start shooting the American Cartoonists who poke fun at him.
Expect something cool here soon!

No ideal has the right to not be questioned. If there was never any form of opposing discussion, our progress as a culture would stagnate. The gunmen who killed the comic artists were trying to prevent them from stating their point of view on serious topics. If we all just shied away from serious subjects that "exceed the limits", we would never have anything world changing in terms of culture.

In addition, as I said before, the picture of Mohammed with a bomb strapped to him most likely wasn't meant to just be malicious or provoke anger. It shows the way extremists make their religion look. Charlie Hebdo isn't meant to be hate-fueling, it is a satirical look on world affairs. The only problem is that some people can't understand that and want to silence those who disagree with them.

This is a different situation. Religion is a more delicate and complicated matter. People take religion way too seriously, and will kill and murder to defend their own.

If you make fun of Obama, there is a big chance that people won't react.

But if you make fun of Jesus or Mohammed or any other, you'll see the chaos. They'll fight. Defend their religion and the values connected to their religion.
