It doesn't really matter whatever the French Magazine said. Whether they made satire of the muslims or whatever. It was nothing to kill them for. Everyone has the right to live, and to say whatever the heck they want.

The only thing the terrorists are doing is making all muslims look bad. All they're doing is making all of the stereotypes worse. Heck, maybe that's what they want. Maybe they want war. Because there's nothing like a good war to get the economy working... Heck for all we know this isn't even the muslims doing all of this. But meh, I'm not going to put on the conspiracy theorist hat right now.

I can't help but wonder what makes people hate so much to the point of commiting murder. This is just... terrible. They killed many innocents.

Like I said to Star king yesterday, I really wish I could be a videogame-like hero sometimes. What is it going to take for humanity to be finally united as one? An alien invasion?

...Also about what Supershroom said earlier, I'm a Christian, and I've made cartoons of Jesus myself (Christman! :3). I'm ok with satire.

Asked why he attacked Charlie Hebdo and the Jewish supermarket, Coulibaly – now posing with an automatic gun – claims his murderous acts are “entirely justified” and adds: “If you attack the Caliphate and the Islamic State, you will be attacked.”

Pretty sure the Caliphate needs to send an order in for new defenders. Their old ones seem to be a little... ♥♥♥♥?

Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure Charlie Hebdo wasn't the first one to make a borderline racist satirical cartoon against Muhammad and the Muslim Religion.

Even then, I seriously doubt the killers know the meaning behind 'satirical comedy'.

Back when I did believe, I probably would have just had a chuckle.

But, from Shroom's first two pages of responses, I digress, we cannot sympathize theology. We need to be ridiculed, we need to be harassed, challenged. This is a test of our faith in what we believe, and of our character to show our defense. We see where our heart is, radical or not.

Quite honestly, though, I would have drawn a satirical image of the depiction of ISIS as well. Just as I would have done the same of Kim Jong Un, Boko Harem, Obama, the UN, Scotland, America, Mexico, etc. Satire is satire for a reason, if you are going to flip your ♥♥♥♥ just because "THAT IS AN INSULT TO WHAT I BELIEVE AND YOU MUST DIE/SUFFER", then you have a problem, need to sit your ♥♥♥ down, and breathe. As an artist myself, I am not going to be sensitive to your personal believes, I'm going to do what I want and draw what I want, and if you don't like it, don't look.

Better call off Draw Mohammed Day, though, we don't want any other innocents killed because idiots can't keep their cool. Gotta be sensitive to people with tempers...(why does this sound so much like Tumblr ideology)

Okay, okay, I officially take that back. Obviously, Christians are far less sensitive/delicate etc. about cartoons. But it is allowed in the Christendom to make drawings of Jesus, see the point below.

The second part of that is ♥♥♥♥ of course, but the first part of that actually reflects how Muslims think. They have the general, strict rule that Mohammed must not be drawn. No matter if you think it's ridiculous or not, it belongs to their religion and therefore it needs to be taken serious. You can't simply override the rights of a foreign religion by saying "I live under my religion's laws and not under theirs". Tolerance also means respecting other religion's rules.

Now let me twist my above sentence a bit: If you were a Muslim, and would have grown up as a Muslim, you would probably be also offended by Mohammed cartoons.

Let me say what one of my teacher said a long time ago:

Main difference between us and muslims is that, muslims actually must read their holy book, the Qur'an, unlike christians where it seems it's pretty much optional. The problem is that maybe after reading the book, they interpret in a wrong way that the "holy war" is actually a true war and thus kill in the name of their religion.

Probably christians are known to be less agressive, because they know less about what they are fightning for?

Also my history teacher and a bunch of other classmates seem to be offended by Charlie Hebdo aswell, because they made Jesus cartoons, so just throwing the blame on muslims doesn't quite work from your side. There are normal muslim people out there who didn't wish for that and point out that the attack was not in their name.

Google "religious extremism". It's not just Islam.

To answer your question, no I would not. There are plenty of Muslims who do not get offended. Linkdroid, if I remember correctly, is a Muslim.

...probably not the BEST example, but yeah, I read an article I conveniently can't find saying Muslims aren't even close to making up all the terrorists in the world. Hell, we went on like a 13 year brown-people bombing spree in retaliation to 9/11 and the attacks on our FREEDOM so we're hardly ones to talk.

It's all a person by person basis. Most Christians will be rational about their beliefs or respect others who differ from stronger beliefs. Some will try and impeach Obama, protest gay rallies, and blow up Abortion Clinics. Most Muslims will be very open with others, happy to share their beliefs, and represent themselves as well as any other group. Some will launch terrorist attacks over satirical comedy.
