For real?

OK mates, probably you heard of ISIS (the terrorist faction, not the egyptian god) and know they are arseholes, but today I was something that really bothered me:
The Islamic State (Isis) has published a video showing militants destroying ancient artefacts in a Mosul museum with sledgehammer and pickaxes.

IS fighters are seen unveiling old statues in the Ninawa museum dating back to the Assyrian empire and then dragging them down to the ground, where they fall into pieces.

Then, they are depicted pounding 3,000-year-old sculptures with hammers until they are completely shattered. Tens of militants are seen using ladders, hammers and drills to destroy every statue in the museum, including a winged-bull Assyrian protective deity dating back to the 7th century BC.

Source for further reading.

This is really ♥♥♥♥ preposterous. Like it wasn't enough to burn houses and kill people, you go that far the destroy history, proof of human intelligence since the oldest times till today, destroyed, made to dust, nada, zero. How big of an idiot must you be to not only not learn from history, but destroy it?

If you kill people for their religion, you can also destroy artefacts associated with their religion. Once you commit war crimes, you stop at nothing anymore.

If you go to them and tell them how preposterous they are, they tell you something in the way of "Koran orders us, it all happens in the sacred name of Allah". They have a chief ideologist called Turki al-Binali, who justifies all atrocities in the name of Koran. There isn't a way to repair them. But there are ways to kill them off.

The international alliance says they would have already killed more than 50% of their leaders and more than 6000 fighters, and would have reconquered more than 700 km² of area. I just hope that's all true.

One of the leaders of the Syriac Military Council, Kino Gabriel, said, “The birthplace of human civilisation … is being destroyed. In front of something like this, we are speechless. Murder of people and destruction is not enough, so even our civilization and the culture of our people is being destroyed.”

Some of these artifacts date back to 7th century BC. It is absolutely disgusting to see such an important and irreplaceable part of history destroyed. In addition, the destruction of these artifacts isn't the only thing that happened. A couple days before this video was taken, members of ISIS kidnapped 220 Assyrian Christian villagers. The fact that people would go to this length is both abhorrent and frightening.

While beaten into a pulp by any Fox News anchor who wants to distract from any time one of their goons gets in trouble or needs something to blame Obama for, ISIS is very clearly a threat to the world. Do I think they'll hit American soil and pick off a billion of us? No, because we vastly overcompensate for our military. VASTLY. But there are people who do need to be worried, and we need to be worried for their sake, not ours. Not for the sake of politics, or for religion, but for people who are immediately affected by the pretty goddamn atrocious acts of these disgraces to a perfectly good religion.

The actual ♥♥♥♥.

Good to know there's even more reason for us to flat out kill them now. Taking away one or more lives is unforgiveable enough, but now this??

Can we burn the Quran, or will that not affect them?

Just an idea.

You should not stoop down to their level. Even though the Quaran is easily available anywhere, it's still mindlessly destroying with the intent of harm.

Can we also burn Torah, Bible and the Vedas? Cause dunno maybe would help as much.

In all seriousness, whenether it was a joke (or not) that's a terrible idea. I said in other posts that it isn't trully about religion that makes militants agressive, but also the social background. Let's not forget that both the Bible and Qur'an are both the "sequels" of Torah, just with a different "route" so we are somehow related in belief. Just look at Turkey for example, over 90% muslim people in it as far as I know, still didn't declare any "official" state religion, women aren't forced to wear burquas/hijab/how it's called, didn't hear about any kind of activity, but population's protest from it (which are present in every country), A+ for this state. Saudi Arabia and UAE anyone? While they may not be exactly angels, they are still open to strangers and imgrants as far as I know. If there are a few dirty drops in the ocean it doesn't make the ocean dirty. ISIS do not represent Islam, muslim people, nor any of the countries (Iraq and Syria as suggested by name).
