[16+] The Josh Duggar Case

Josh Duggar of 19 Kids and Counting was caught molesting four of his younger sisters and one other girl while he was 14. The family took him to an officer who "gave him a stern talking to", and nothing more was done about it. Recently it's come up that the family has had one of the victims ask for the files regarding the case to be destroyed, and the "family"(the parents in other words) have released a statement about the matter, as has Josh and his wife.

But there are four testimonies and statements that are missing, overlooked, and that the fans refuse to request.

His sisters.

I honestly refuse to speak right now about this. I'm irritated with how this was approached, how the fanbase has responded, and how the family reacted to the issue so long ago. Anything I say will more than likely be something I will regret.

Discuss as you see fit. I personally think he should be held accountable, that the family cannot use their faith to say he is a better person all because he repented. But, alas, that's what people seem to think. I feel the deepest remorse for the girls, and I honestly hope it comes to bite the parents in the ♥♥♥ once they're adults.

But how do you guys feel about this? What do you think should be done?

I'm going to keep this surprisingly short as well, because any comments of mine would be filled with swearing as well. I never liked them, the idea of the show, or that form of Christianity in the first place. I am grimly not surprised.

Nor am I surprised that Mike Huckabee, someone who compared Beyonce to a common stripper ruining young girls and who's rabidly against gay marriage on a moral level last I checked, is defending them. Guess ruining kids and sexual deviancy is only defensible if you're white, straight, and male.

What really irks me about the matter is how the girls have reacted to the matter, with one even going as far as to say "It wasn't his fault" on Twitter. Then who was it? Yours? Or is that how you were taught to believe?

Even the homeschooling curriculum just reeks of so much misogyny and rape-sympathizing to me. "Question why you are bitter"? "Submit your body as a temple"? So basically just act as if nothing happened, in other words?

It's no wonder why Jana is unmarried, or it makes sense to me at least. I just.....I can't. I just really can't say what I want to say on here without looking like the villain myself. But surely people would have realized that with Bill Guthard, author of their curriculum, being charged with over 35 cases of sexual assault and sexual abuse in his organization, something would have made people curious?

I just can't understand why people are just willing to forgive someone like this, and to act like it was something as petty as swiping a candy bar...

I should probably also bring up that charges were not filed until three to four years had passed since the incident, which according to the Statutes of Limitations, in Arkansas the limit is 1 year before the case is defunct. Given that there were four victims, charges related to the four family members were now void, and the fifth apparently never brought matters to light.

So we have parents who obviously teach their kids that it's the woman's fault she gets abused, who wait until time has passed before they allow their children to file now voided charges of sexual abuse, who denied their own daughter's psychological evaluations and therapy, leaving them to cope on their own with any lingering PTSD that may have resulted, and making their own daughters request that records of their now adult son be destroyed.

Who the ♥♥♥♥ in their right mind would forgive this? Seriously? -_-

hahahaha poor christian fundamentalists

your ideology is absolute ♥♥♥♥ and as history teaches extremists do sadly succeed to get many fans for some reason, because it's easy to exploit and manipulate people, especially young people in their process of development

even if many fans keep silent and even if there are inconsistencies in matter of prosecution, there are adequate reactions from political side and the media, such as TLC cancelling all planned seasons, at least at first

it's similar to sexual assault affairs around clergymen in Germany (yes, these also sadly exist) but this is still an other dimension because here we're talking about extremists whose moronism and bigotry finally came to light

EDIT: @Kab of course I wrote this under the assumption that the assault allegations are true, which I've actually thought they would have already proven to be

"They cancelled my TV show!" hardly seems "adequate" in a case like this, especially when everyone seems to still be pretending that nothing wrong happened here.

I already feel so much anger at such pathetic excuses of human beings already, especially after how some scum has destroyed my best friend's life and the fact that she has complex PTSD, that I think it would be unsafe for my mouth and mind to read into this, in case I say something I may regret.

They are ♥♥♥♥ scum. That is all.

So why haven't they done anything about it?

By 'they', I refer to all of us, officials and civilians included. Unless if they have?

The same reason as they still are barely doing jack ♥♥♥♥ about Bill Cosby. The famous person or the person that most has a ♥♥♥♥♥ wins out.
