Probably Peter meant that when we are eaten a part of our DNA or other kind of information will eventually find it's way to the eater's reproductive system and transfer it to it's offspring, thus making them sort of our daughers and sons, at least that's what I understood after OJ menioned it as a "core".
I think you misunderstood some of the OP as I don't make a link with the original theory and "how did the first human spawn" thing. That's indeed evolution, but the op probably meant that after we die, every single part of us will eventually be recycled by nature into another form and thus in essence we are survived by the finished products after we were recycled. In these case and using Peter's theory logic, probably even if you merely become one with the soil you were buried in, you will provide minerals and other nutrients to plants that will grow in that place. Thus, being survived by them.

Kinda, but I take a human's brain "core" (How I refer it as a compound) as the sentiment "him". And since this sentiment "him" can be slowly transferred through many different creatures (Whether you become a plant's skin,or a bird's meat),and ultimately you get a chance at being the sentiment part of a creature (Being its "core").

Huh. Yeah, I'm having a little bit of a hard time following, but from what I do understand it's an interesting theory.
Expect something cool here soon!

1) "him" is not gender-neutral
2) sentience, not sentiment
3) "sentience" is a human-defined idea, and if it were to be described in any real, actual capacity, it is the result of abstractions upon abstractions from the human brain's neurological works, not One Specific Magical Part That Does A Thing Humans Came Up With
