No, I don't think it's normal.

I felt that way for pretty much my entire life until a year or two ago. It's not necessarily normal but I don't think it's bad. Iunno, it was nice while it lasted.

Yeah it is pretty normal; we just so happen to be completely different people with completely different brains. I can say for myself I really do care a lot about what people say/think (I said that on the Who are you? thread) and while being conscious of people's thoughts is a good thing, too much is never good and will cause trouble (in the same way the excess of unconsciousness does).

Depends on what you don't care about, and when.

I wish I didn't care, lol.
But I guess I have lost the sensitivity a bit, I'm not as bad as I used to be.

That depends on how you go about saying I don't care.
If you're saying you don't care about yourself or your future, well that's rather messed up (I said rather because I've been saying that to people, and it's been making them upset).
Everything else is okay.

There's nothing wrong with it.
Think about it. All the people who have done great things, to help others, to create new things... they all had opposition at some point. Would they have succeeded if they let the opinion of random strangers get to them?
When it comes to family and friends, those opinions matter. Unless you're a politician or some kind of public communicator or whatever, everyone else can say whatever they want, it doesn't need to get to you.

To give an update on my opinion about this here, I said not caring about what you need to care like the future was wrong. Well, if you're stuck with that mentality, how do you get out of it? How do you go about making someone care? The only thing I can think that could happen is if something drastic were to happen to that person or some other kind of pressure or step out of the comfort zone.
Well, this is PW's topic, not mine, but I am starting to disagree with what I said before, because I am starting to not care about a whole lot of things anymore. How am I supposed to keep trying and enjoy myself with nothing but failure or the results I don't want. I understand I should just enjoy learning rather than the results (and I'm working on that with Super Smash Bros 4). Well okay, how about I just enjoy learning while I'm scarred and ugly and homeless. Yeah, no.
This doesn't seem to help anything for you PW, so just disregard it.
