It will apparently miss us by 300,000 miles and it will pass through Orion duing the 30-31st of October.

Asteroids of that magnitude would be detected fairly early if they were en route to Earth, so as to determine a way to direct their path away by any means(such as nuclear arms).
Now, a 200mph hurricane arcing towards where I live? Totally different, you can't stop that.
But yeah, mankind isn't dead yet. Not until we blow the ♥♥♥♥ out of ourselves.
