Just go shoot people in Team Fortress 2 or something. Sometimes playing videogames can help you deal with stress. c:

I could just as easily take my own life, but I'm too scared to do it. I'm always scared.

I'm going to say something that I don't like saying, or that I'm saying it, but I feel like I've lost a lot of the ability to care about people. Maybe I've been burnt before, maybe I've just seen it not work. But I've read some worrying stuff from you all, people I genuinely care about. And I get that knot in my stomach, but I can't bring myself to DO anything about it, even if I really owe it to you. I'm not sure what it is. My own depression and internal conflicts? Just lack of motivation? I hate that it's kind of where I'm at now but I see posts like I have lately and I have no real intention of doing much about it in the way of replies and advice or just a worried post. And that kind of scares me. I didn't think empathy could be limited, but maybe I blew my wad early and just can't get it back. I honestly don't know if I can word it in a way without making it more ♥♥♥♥ up. I'm just too apathetic about it all. Sorry, guys.

A less serious get things off your chest thing but:
please *never* bother bringing up the fact that you posted something before someone else. It's annoying. (no what currently is going on in chat is not directly a cause of this post, it's happened numerous times)
Karyete, Master of Civil Conversation
Disclaimer: none of these messages have been edited, context can be provided if needed (thanks discord!) but absolutely does not change anything about these messages and that he's too overly defensive and cocky to make situations better

Karyete: I don't have anything to say to you, I've been deliberately trying to not offend you for years, actually, but apparently everything I say to you is wrong. You come across as so aggressive that you successfully intimidated me into not wanting to talk to you
Karyete: Seriously, what is your problem? And not only that, you fail to even acknowledge you might be in some wrong here.
Karyete: Oooh it's you? Hello. Feel free to drop this right now. You're going to make yourself look like an idiot.
Karyete: We don't want to hear your opinion at this stage.
Karyete: You're not getting any apology, especially after now.
Karyete: You can stay up on your high horse, continue to twist the truth and act like an absolute child all you want. I refuse to give respect to a man who right now is picking up a dropped argument because he simply cannot fathom the idea that he might be in the wrong.
Karyete: How pathetic

Hey, I hate to admit it, but I'm exactly the same. That's what happens I think if you've had a long term mental illness, a lot of people I know will tell you they feel the same way.

Everytime I try to help, I'm just pushed away. That's why I don't really try helping that much lately. Then again, if a person can't help themselves, they often can't be helped at all. We can only pray that people get better...

I don't think that's always the case, if someone can't help themselves it doesn't mean they're immediately a lost cause, it's just they may need guidance to be able to see a way out. Which is what therapy and counselling is supposed to do (but admittedly doesn't always work).

Modern society is pretty ♥♥♥♥ up in the sense that it creates a feedback loop for things like accepting help.

A lot of people interpret an unsolicited offer of assistance as an attack. "This person must think I'm weak/unable/not good enough to do it myself." Cue worse mental state, more people notice and try to help. Repeat.

On an unrelated note, though- please do not conflate apathy with a respect for another person's choice, even if they choose to harm themselves. Accepting that sometimes there is nothing you can realistically do is infinitely better than destroying yourself as well trying to help someone who will not change their mind. By all means disagree, and by all means make an attempt, but as random people on the internet our powers to influence each other are extremely limited, and beating yourself up over that is not healthy.

The flip side to that is, if you've already made a choice to self-harm and are not willing to find/ask for/accept the necessary resources to work past it, please try to refrain from making everyone else feel guilty when sometimes there is nothing they can realistically do.

Oh, I thought you were going to say modern society is ♥♥♥♥ up because of how aggressive/hateful people can get. It's like they live their lives constantly putting down others and completely disregarding other's emotions.
Expect something cool here soon!
