It's okay, I can't blame EC for taking the route they took with their video, considering a lot of discussion points they talked about actually matched up with a fair amount of points BBC made on their article (which came from interviews with Chinese citizens). For all we know it could just be a misunderstanding.

Arturia wrote:I like this idea frankly and it should be applied in more countries as long as the leader isn't a piece of ♥♥♥♥ (I'm looking at you Erdoğan). The mass of people of a certain country are nothing but dumb sheeps, if they hear someone protesting for whatever reason, they'll join, regardless if that reason concerns or affects them or not. With a good constitution, law inforcement and a leader that isn't looking forward to run away with your money after his mandate is done, this can actually improve the society in a country.

Again, most countries miss the things listed above, so right now it doesn't seem like a good idea, but it still can help improving the quality of a society and thus modeling a good citizen. (Bark at me, but the more free they are, the more barbaric they become).

You see, that's the problem though. We can only hope we have a leader who isn't a total jackass and tries to do nothing but abuse his position and power to make money... but the reality is, until we actually make a system where jackasses can't get into office, we WILL have leaders/presidents/dictators trying to get into office just to abuse their position.

The problem is not "oh people are dumb sheeps and we need someone to keep them in line with some country-wide credit score that even tracks their families". Rather, it is that we need someone to lead effectively and actually improve the country instead of letting it rot, so that even the dumb sheeps will find them appealing. Right now the U.S. is in a pretty bad state all things considered (no pun intended), and we really need to focus on improving our own country, re-working our algorithms so that we don't keep repeating history, and actually get stuff DONE. Yes, Obama hunted down Bin Laden, but it was clearly not enough. He got too comfortable and let terrorist attacks continue. I'm not saying military force is the solution, but he didn't clean up. If anything he left the future years for the taking, and ISIS took advantage of that. You need to clean up and absolutely make sure no more terrorist ideals spread before it's too late.

An effective leader doesn't abuse their power, they take action, and they don't leave jobs half assed.
Expect something cool here soon!
