I'll probably keep my vote a secret, 'cause that's what I was always raised to do. But I can't see myself voting for any candidate as is, honestly, because of how much fraud and lack of transparency there has been on main issues and not the petty "she said he said" mess.
I understand the whole "lesser of two evil" arguments, but voting for a third party really isn't the equivalent of not voting at all. While your vote may not be for a bipartisan candidate or one of the hundreds of thousands hopefully meant to sway a group of representatives, it's still a vote, and you still chose someone you found befitting.
I see voting third party or for a write-in as having a plate of food in front of you. You could not eat anything, and you wouldn't have eaten. You could clear the plate and you fed yourself. You could take a small bite, and you still at least ate something, even if it wasn't everything. While it may look like you didn't eat, you did, just not the traditional way.
Not pulling a holier-than-thou here, or trampling you guys' decisions. If you want to vote for Hillary or Trump, you do you fam, you're putting your faith in whatever candidate you think is right. As would any third party voter. You're not a bad person, unless your views are threatening in some aspect. You just voted for who you thought was right.
I just like to make sure whoever I pick I can trust to do the job I think is right, and that I can have faith in what they do to not turn their backs on anyone. I honestly don't really trust any of the listed as the right person for the job. That's just me.

Nice that people feel confident in their safety so much they can vote third party and be comfortable either way, while questioning why others don't drop everything and follow suit. Just trying not to die, mate

I don't think most people realize the real gravity of the situation is all. Yes, I agree with you, having only two main parties sucks. But this is NOT the election to fix that problem, and nor will a presidential election alone fix it. You need to vote in the elections for other positions. The best thing about this election is that it's a good representation of the problem with bipartisan systems. Now we have an example for future changes.
But ignoring that, people need to realize what's at stake, and the main reason why I don't think voting third party is the way to go. Look at the 2012 election. Two fairly good candidates, ones with fair views and fair policies. Both sides could support each other and supporters of both were still respectable.
Then look at this election. Trump is disgusting. He can barely even be supported by his own party. He's talked and has had multiple people accuse him of sexual harrassment. The list could go on. Hillary is..well, that's more subjective than Trump. The point is, one candidate is disgusting and could elect the next *supreme court justice* who is in place for life. He will put people like him in power and it will have lasting effects for the future of our country, after he's gone.
Simply put: we can't let that happen. We've progressed so much as a country and can't afford to have it reversed. Hillary may not be the best president to you. That's fair (depending on the reasons.) But she sure as hell can't ruin this country like Trump.

I have to agree, as I have already said that Trump Must Be Stopped. I have to agree with John Oliver on his analysis of the whole thing, in that we have to rally behind Hillary if we want to make SURE that he is stopped, because the truest win only comes with winning the biggest number of electoral votes.
Here's the scary truth: Let's say that Trump's numbers fall to just OVER a third (1/3) of the vote (leaving less than 2/3 of the total remaining). If Hillary is so obnoxious that half of her votes go to third parties, that leaves her with less-than-a-third of the remaining votes, and the third parties splitting the other less-than-a-third. Guess who wins, with only just over 1/3 of the vote? Trump.
I would love to vote for people that I think would do a better job than Hillary, but at this point, I'm going to do whatever I need to stop this Trumpocalypse.
I also agree that total change will not come with just this election, but two years from now when a bunch of Congress is up for re-election, we will have to kick THOSE bums out of government too. This is not the end of the fight for the soul of our country. It is the beginning.

I still stand by my previous statements.
Trump Must Be Stopped
And while we're at it, we might as well put the first woman in the White House.

Basically I've run into a wall with a lot of people "schooling" us "lessers" on why we don't deserve rights because we didn't think their way. It's enough for me to want to drink bleach, so at least I'll do it to myself
Edit: I wonder how best to tell my parents her kids may not live the whole four years lol

I shouldn't have laughed when I heard, but I did. There's something very satisfying about knowing Hillary lost to a racist billionaire with very little experience in politics, even if I would have preferred another candidate to win any day of the week.
Suddenly Brexit doesn't feel like the worst decision of the year.

All right. I wasn't going to post anything today, in mourning, but I've been quite literally slapped out of it.
This is a wakeup call. To everyone who has more than 2 brain cells to rub together. There's a job to do, and it's more important than ever. We need to get out there and educate the people. There were two polls done just before the election, and they were telling indeed. One was of college educated people of all kinds, and they were 60% for Hillary. The other was of uneducated people of all kinds, and they were 60% for Trump. Which do we seem to have more of?
The work. The hard work.
Being a good person. Being responsible in everything that you do. Getting up and trying again, after every single miserable failure. Helping those around you as much as you can. Facing each day with a brave face, whether you feel like it or not, because you stubbornly refuse to let go of hope. Doing the right thing because it is the right thing, and not because you benefit from it. Taking things one step at a time, because being overwhelmed helps nothing. Being the best person you can be, because it makes the world a better place.
That work has not disappeared. That work has not suddenly ended. That work goes on. And in our darkest hours, that work is more important than ever.
The only true failure is giving up, and I will not be stopped.
Take hope, my friends. We may have lost the battle, but we have not yet lost the war. The Earth still spins, you still breathe, and we cannot let up pressure on fixing what we can, even if others are hell bent on self-destruction. And we know, better than most, that you can always reach out a hand, and tell your neighbor that it is all right, because it WILL be all right, because it has to be. It has to be, because we will not give up. And if we keep on trying, we WILL find a way to fix everything.

Trump will not be the one to unite this country. I am vehemently against uniting under this man. If someone is able to unite the country without being president, I will gladly unite under them, but Trump and Pence are the most disgusting people possible to take the most important position in the world.
I cried for people like you MoD, who are now under a leader who has fought against you. I don't completely agree with your opinions on this matter, but I wish everyone well with Trump for however long we have to deal with him, whether it be 4 years or shorter than that. Bye Hillary, we really missed out on you.
