I'm aware that the system isn't exactly in an optimal and un-blatantly corrupt position right now, but there's still a ton of bias in this thread and none of that justifies the whole It's The End Of Days, Our Once Great Nation Has Fallen fear-mongering attitude that's been pervading the entire past several pages. probably my fault for deciding to partake in political discussions though, heh. anyway let's pretend this didn't happen and carry on

it very much represents the majority of the country
So basically, the majority of the country wants Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump to win even though they are terrible. What happened to this country?
Not exactly. I think Mega was just pointing out that Trump winning would quite literally mean that a majority of the populace voted for him in the general election--that is to say, greater than 50% of the number of voters (which itself isn't necessarily representative of the entire country, because not everyone votes;
in the past century, presidential election voter turnout has never been above 65%) picked him out of the available candidates, which as Doram and others have mentioned will likely be a "lesser of two evils" type of decision, not an "I really want this person to be president" type of decision. A good amount of the people who voted for whoever wins will definitely be legitimate supporters, but quite a lot will also be people who only conceded to vote for that person in order to make sure the other contenders don't win.

Also, while it'd be interesting to see impeachment hearings happen in my lifetime and actually go through, I doubt that'll happen to anyone who gets elected. There aren't any real charges that could be pressed on any of them yet (except for maybe Hillary with the email scandal) that are worthy of impeachment (which is limited to only "high crimes and misdemeanors", not just the whims of voters) at least to my knowledge.
What might be possible is a recall election, if people get enough signatures, which they may very well do considering the heavy sentiments against both parties right now. It worked in Wisconsin against governor Scott Walker in 2012, but he was re-elected after the recall anyway. Nope, apparently I don't know enough about the US government. Neither the President nor members of Congress can be recalled because it's literally not in the Constitution therefore there's no official federal procedure for it, but state legislators and governors can be recalled since it's up to the states to decide. Only way out for the president is end of term or impeachment
or assassination, but let's not go that far.
