1000 years into the future

Postby Blablob » May 8th, 2010, 5:24 am

It's hard to believe, but scientists are already planning to take on new challenges in the future....no, not 10 years. 1000 YEARS! WTF!

Assuming the planet is still up and lively around this time, what do you expect this far future to hold? A world full of robots? What about gaming technology?

Discuss.

Reminds me of Futurama.
Anyway, of course technology of cars will change and you'll notice that the moon comes closer to the earth. But that doesn't matter because at that time we won't be here.

My personal theory..

Do you believe in aliens?

I do, in a way. I believe they're humans.

Evolved humans. Humans that have aged over many, many years, and have adapted to their new environments.

Just think about it.. Let's look at our typical alien grey. The one almost ALL encounters report of.

BIG EYES - Evolved to help the humans see easier in the night, because in the future, night will be almost constant. We're ruining our atmosphere, and one day the Earth will be so damn messed up, the sun will be blocked from our view.
SKINNY & HUNCHED OVER - We don't eat much. We lose our sources of food (meat and stuff runs out), but in the future scientists create pills to provide us with all the essential nutrients we need to survive (also thus the smaller mouths, since we really won't need to open them). And as for the hunched thing.. hell, by then EVERYONE will be MASSIVE nerds.
DON'T TALK - No need to. Telepathy, my friend.
HAIRLESS - If you look at our chain of evolution, you'll see we're getting less hairy.

And so much more.

But that's just my personal belief. To me it makes perfect sense. It's where we're heading. Just look at how we humans are evolving. If we can turn from monkeys to what we are now... heh... don't you tell me this isn't logical.

But ja, in 1000 years this won't happen. It'll take WAAAAAY longer than that.

(Dreaming)

Well, I think we can have UFO with 100000000000km/sec. We can go to the sun without heating.
We can have super mini computer with a bunch of function.
A lot of robots.
On the earth, there were no human, they are all in other planet.

Well.. We didn't truly just turn from monkeys did we? O_o It was more like Natural Selection that allowed us to slowly descend from them. All animals adapt to their environments, and clearly, we haven't changed in quite some time. Unless there was something big that forced our species to change, we wouldn't change into a more super intelligent, "alien."

Of course something drastic will happen. Not suddenly, necessarily. Like I said, we're doing all this crap to the planet.... It's not going to stay all green and beautiful (not that it necessarily is now anyway). Food is depleting, and what-not. I'm absolutely certain the skies won't stay clear. Something will happen to block out the sun's rays. One day. In like... 1000000 years.

Basically what I'm saying.... we won't stop evolving/adapting, because the world doesn't stop changing. The only direction I can really see us heading is this "alien" form people have come to know so well. it makes the most sense, if you consider how the world is going.

It sounds depressing for some reason. In truth, it'd be awesome to evolve into an amazingly advanced race with UBERL33T RAY GUNZ.

I think people will have to move out of the planet Earth and find another planet to live in. I think the Earth wouldn't exist 1000 years into the future.
