Embarrassing yourself is not unique to Hollywood. Just look at Congress. Watch Rachel Maddow on MSNBC for a week, and then look back at Hollywood. The similarities are horrifying...

That being said, I am a Disney freak, and I absolutely appreciate the deeper qualities of much of the drek that the Disney Channel puts out. There is a lot of heartfelt goodness to Hanna Montana, and I think that it's fascinating to watch Billy Ray Cyrus and his daughter go through the motions of satirizing their already unreal life. Most of the episodes are admittedly quite thinly-veiled heavy-handed morality lessons, with fairly contrived comedy and unrealistic situations (although not as bad as some other shows like The Suite Life of Zak & Cody), but all that aside (I did say I was a freak) almost all of the shows do manage fairly regular truly touching or meaningful moments a few times a season.

That being said, I think that there are other shows on the Disney Channel that are absolutely worth their weight in gold. Primary amongst them is Phineas & Ferb. It walks the fine line of adult vs. children's humor expertly, and is phenomenally intelligent. There is a well developed cast and world that illustrate the battle between coincidence and intelligent design like nothing I have ever seen. There is a sense of musical style that is quite rare for TV of any kind these days. And finally, truly touching and meaningful moments are quite common as well (Check it all out at the Phineas and Ferb Wiki. I always tear up at Candace's song in the episode "Mom's Birthday", and the whole episode of "Phineas and Ferb Get Busted" is awesome for showing the real deep-down feelings of many of the main cast, including Perry, and finally "Evil Love" from "Chez Platypus" is so sweet and so funny at the same time, and for a fan of the series, I think it is really unfair what happens to Doofenshmirtz after that, even considering that he is the main villain of the series).

I think I can quite agree with this statement. With fame comes the price in the form of paparazzis, rumors, and other things. >_> Eventually, along the road, your life will no doubt be ruined. Only the greatest of celebrities can survive Hollywood and not get eaten alive. O_o

Avril Lavigne WAS a 17 year old who used a**, d**n and...uh...something else... But she's not getting screamed at. Miley Cyrus is DISNEY. Now that makes a difference! Miley knows Disney doesn't use cuss words, but Miley says it. That shows how much of a mature person she wants to be.
