Well then. That was... interesting.
Airship Chase by Suyo
Er... well then. That was fun, actually. I'm more or less unsure of how you made those arrows and stuff move automatically at the end, but it's probably some coding I don't recognize. (Upon looking again, I just realized you made the blocks move, not the arrows. Derp.) Anyway, about the level...
Fun (4/10): Short, but simple and... er, "fun"? I dunno, there's not much to say about it. It just felt really short and near-bland, had it not been for the blocks moving back at the end and the dialogue stuff. We just went into some obvious airship, hit a switch, and then ran off a cliff... I dunno. Wasn't exciting enough for an airship infiltration, but other than that it was kinda... I dunno. Didn't exactly feel like a level, but there wasn't much wrong with it. There just wasn't much good with it. It was more or less monotone, one would say.
Also, on the first airship, the bully can get on the platform you're trying to down through, making it near impossible to pass.
Graphics (2/5): I'm probably not one to talk about airship design since I clearly can't make good airships for my first LDC entry, but those airships looked kinda silly.
There was nice tilework and all, but nothing exactly astounded me... and, well, needless to say I see absolutely no decor whatsoever. I didn't expect much considering it's hard to make decor for a sky level, but you gotta try at least something. Maybe a background stove or something would be better than just wall tiles. Otherwise... not much else to say, except for the odd choice of jungle design for the moving blocks at the end.
Other (2.4/5):
Good:
+ Well, it was a starting foundation for your sense of humor, I guess. But I'm a little confuse as to why a Goomba is helping you of all things. (+0.25)Bad:
- Needs more enemy variation. It got a little repetitive seeing bob-ombs and bullet bills everywhere. (-0.5)
- Probably going to get screamed at for this, but I genuinely think this level could use a few more coins here and there. Like I said earlier, it feels bland already, and there wasn't really much to give it a Mario-esque feeling. My point still stands, however, for a Legend of Zelda game wouldn't be LoZ if there were no pots/hearts for you to collect in a dungeon. After all, Coins ARE a trademark of the Mario universe. (-0.1)
- On the first airship, it's possible to jump over the top at the end and skip the dialogue/going down the triple moving platforms like how you're intended. (-0.25)Total: 8.4/20.
I am so sorry suyo, pls dun kill me ; n ;ofc I know it's a level you made a long time ago and all, but it could really use a polish. I think you had a right direction, but poor execution in the end.
