You're not aloud to have two topics about the same or similar thing, correct? In my opinion, this was about the same as the topic I locked.

I believe I just mentioned that...

But I just took a look at the other topic in question. That one appears to be a single expert giving advice. This topic, on the other hand, is meant to act as a discussion board for anybody to come on and put up the code for a level they're having trouble with completing, and then anybody else can come in and give advice on how to make it better. In other words, this topic is a community effort.

This level's meant to be a giant maze. It's a 10x10 grid of 8x8 rooms, each of which has up to 4 exits - left, up, right, and down. However, each of the 100 rooms has some sort of quirk, for good or for ill, and some are outright booby traps. (Those rooms sometimes have extra exits, but said extra exits will likely just send you to the start or to instant death.) The Mario Bros. have to navigate through the maze, avoiding the booby-trapped rooms, and make their way to the Shine Sprite. Think of it as a mix of the general level design of Hotel Mario and the "Hotel Horror" level of Wario Land 4. Thing is, I don't exactly know ll that much about Hotel Mario... And I really do want this level to be a bit confusing - left to my own devices, I fear that it may turn out too straightforward.

Speaking of which, does anybody have any advice for my Hotel Kamek level - or, rather, neat tricks that I could use to make each of my 8x8 rooms feel more unique? I'm actually making decent progress on the level design - it just feels like it's going to be a bit tedious. Also, the level's not going to be as linear as I've previously implied (or planned for); I'm going to allow for there to be numerous ways to get to the end. In other words, it's not going to be necessary to visit every single room (that's safe to enter, that is...), although I do plan for that to be the least risky route to take (in exchange for its obviously being the longest.) The shortest route should require the player to go through at least three deathtraps, and at least one of those should require some insane luck (or Japanese-videogame-expert-level timing) to exit without dying at all, let alone in a direction that'll take the player closer to the Shine Sprite.

With that said, here's what Hotel Kamek is like now (I estimate that it's about 85-90% complete; since the level is going to have 100 rooms in total, each completed room is 1% of the level.)

So, I'm now trying to design the final boss level of "Super Luigi Bros. 2", titled "Let Loose The Juice". [No, the title does not endorse releasing O.J. Simpson. ] This level is supposed to be a chase scene, in which an oversized Bowser pursues Mario and Luigi trying to swallow them whole. This is represented by a pair of giant rapidly rotating blocks that starts some distance to Mario/Luigi's right and then proceeds to chase them throughout the entire level, flattening them repeatedly for an inevitable kill if it manages to catch up. Unfortunately, the code seems to be corrupted, and I can't figure out which part to get rid of to make the level testable!
