Hey guys, remember this

Here's something to look at while I wait for a response from Runouw about the New LP API.

Question: Why did you do this?

Answer: I had two reasons. First: I was bored. Second: Maybe someone could make a even more awesome, stand-alone Level Designer. Possible features could be saving to file, show estimated fly track of a slingstar…

That was 2 years ago.

In these two years, the Level Designer community has done big things.

They found glitches.

They found out how to disable sprites.

They found even more glitches.

Then they found secret tiles, like the passable blue brick or the invisible tiles.

After these two years, a site killer called Suyo participates in a competition called "Ludum Dare" and codes a editor for his game to finish faster.

Two weeks after the event, he gets an idea.

Code: Select all
32x24~0*199*3m*12*0*12*3m*12*0*12*3m*12*0*12*3m*12*0*12*3m*12*0*12*3m*12*0*65*3d*3*0*21*3d*3*0*21*3d*3*0*21*3d*3*0*21*3d*3*0*21*3d*3*0*21*3d*3*0*21*3d*3*0*21*3d*3*0*21*3d*3*0*153*~1,272,176,0,0,Right|2,784,304|2,720,304|2,656,304|2,592,304|2,528,304|2,752,336|2,688,336|2,624,336|2,560,336|2,496,336~0~0~Test

It's coming.

Features already in:
- saving to level code
- camera movement and zoom
- rescaling level

Features to be implemented from the original LD:
- more tiles and sprites (duh)
- changing BG and music

Features I'm going to try to implement which are not in the original LD:
- disable sprites in-game
- function to automatically create glitches (like quicksand)
- ability to place secret tiles from the regular tiles menu
- save to file
- load from file
- estimated track by a slingstar
- undo
- copy/paste

...obviously this will just happen if I keep working on this and don't get lazy.
I won't release the PoC build publicy because it's in a hardly usable state full of bugs and glitches, but if you ask me by PM or in the chat I might give you a look :3

You may also request some more features, but keep in mind I can only do what is possible in the regular LD. That means no background tiles or new enemies. You can post them below, or drop them at the GitHub Issues Page - I prefer the latter as I can keep track of everything there.

OH BY THE WAY IT'S OPEN SOURCE BECAUSE OPEN SOURCE KICKS ♥♥♥

Just pushed an update adding camera movement, zooming and level resizing. Next up is the GUI and the ability to add all the available tiles and items.

Wait, this affect the LD only version, right?

Just want to know, this is slightly confusing me. (Not that it's hard to confuse me)
