*tall, slender man with fedora walks onto the top of a three-story building in Runouw*Well, here goes nothing.
*takes out bullhorn, takes deep breath, clears throat*Ahem. MP3 and Gentlemen, the results are in as of... now.
*cue stampede of hundreds of Runouwians stampeding into the banquet hall from Amp
to hear the results... even though only, like, 12 people entered*.Well, hello everyone. Didn't expect to see so many of you here to hear the results of the 17th LDC. Didn't know how many of you ca-

Er, no... this is for the 17th LDC.

*blinks* Well, okay! Who cares about you guys anyway? Sigh... well, anyway, for the scant few that give a ♥♥♥♥, the 17th Level Designer Contest has concluded! This is the first full length Wintertime Level Designer Contest, and the first ran by a user without a rank of power, in this case level designing legend Volcove.
*camera cuts to Volcove, who shows no reaction to MoD's statement other than a twitch of a smile*Volcove also took time to judge every entry in his detained fashion, and was joined by myself, a permanent judge by now, and by new designing legend King and beloved level moderator MP3 Amplifier. Let's give us a round of applause!
*camera pans to King, who gives a subtle nod of acknowledgment, as opposed to MP3, who gives a wide smile and a thumbs up*We've had a lot of newcomers to this level designer contest- only three entrants have placed in an official LDC, and one in a mini-LDC. Only one entrant, myself, has won an LDC before, so there's set to be a lot of new blood getting medals this time around. Question is, who will it be?
*camera takes a moment to show the other eleven entrants- Kirby859, SuperMIC, KevinOC, DarkBlaze, Nworlds, Yoshi999, MushYoshi, GMDragon11, Karyete, Azeroth and Skjung2034- all with various forms of reaction to the statement*At any rate, let's get started with the results! Unfortunately, given the results, we are only able to give out prizes for people from 5th to 1st, so the 6th placer will unfortunately be left out. We apologize for the inconvenience.
*sparse disappointment echoes through crowd*Indeed. Anyway, to fifth place! Now, here's an odd way to start things off- an incredibly close call. As a matter of fact, this whole LDC was made up of close calls. If we rounded up even to the quarter point like we used to do in primitive times, everyone would be leaving with a medal or ribbon, and we'd have 3 winners, 4 silver medalists and 2 bronze medalists. We only have 12 entrants. That's pretty crazy.
Anyway, to the incredibly close fifth and fourth placers!
In 5th place, with 14.25 points, with his first placing in several LDCs,
Karyetefor
The Silver Star Shiver!
In 4th place, with 14.29 points, from waaaaaay out in left field,
Yoshi999for
Snow Zone!Yes, congratulations to the both of you for your first placings. You did great!
*brief round of applause for Yoshi999 and Karyete, grinning as they come up onto the stage and accept their ribbons*There you go! Now we get to the top 3 medals. We'll start with third, who literally edged out second by the tightest margin in LDC history, .02 points. That's like a thousandth of a full 20, which is entirely freaking crazy. This incredibly, incredibly lucky third placer is...

Nwinter!with 14.31 points.*audience simultaneously blinks, a thud is heard*I... well... congratulations, N! Your highest placing yet, even if the score isn't as high! Goddamnit, audience, applaud already.
*disjointed applause starts through the crowd as Nworlds, bewlidered, walks up to receive his trophy*Great job, Nworlds! Now, to those who placed second and first.
In Second Place, With A Score Of 16.08*crowd looks on in anticipation*

Roaming Celsius Luminarywith 16.08 pointsYay, me. ^_^ Surprised I made it this high, to be honest. But I'm glad. Also,
I think that this level, given the stats and competition, is eligible enough for WITBLO11. Congrats, me and whatnot.
*round of applause as I take a quick bow and place the trophy beside me at the podium*In Second Place, With a Score of 16.08*crowd looks on in confusion*
the new dynamic duo, MP3 Amplifier and SuperMICfor
Journey to the Arctic!with 16.08 points*loud female cheering is heard as Amp hugs SMIC fervently. He grins before turning blue, after which Amp lets him go and, after letting him breathe, drags him up onstage to receive their medal*Congratulations to the both of you! I know you both worked really hard in the past to get a medal, so I'm glad you two finished your journey- together! ^_^ Also, you're the second most successful collaboration of all time (right after Ven and I of course.) You guys will
also have your entry given guaranteed acceptance into WITBLO11, along with the winner! This leaves only one entry left to announce- the winner. For those of you watching at home, it should be fairly obvious, considering the people before them. It was a tough debate between MoD, SuperMIC/MP3 and the winner, but our victor edged out on top! With such a surprising entry too! I'm not sure how many of you are expecting this, but here we go!
In first place, with a total of 16.22 points, is a brand new champion...DarkBlaze wrote:Oh my god, is it me?
Damn it, DarkBlaze! I was gonna pull up the epic picture and everything! Sigh...

DarkBlazefor
Ghostly Grove! with 16.25 points
*DarkBlaze cheers, crowd applauds*Yes, congratulations DarkBlaze! You are not only the fourteenth LDC winner in history, you've set another record:
First Level Intentionally With No Signs to Win an LDC, excluding the 14th, which outlawed any dialogue. Yes, it's an odd award, but when you think of all the notable LDC winners in history, pretty much all of them have had some level of story, and yours didn't even need it. THAT is pretty badass.
Fantastic job, Dark. Also, it goes without saying that your level will be entered into
WITBLO11 as the last chronological entrant of the year! Commendations to you, good sir.
*everyone applauds*So, by now NanTheDark should either have opened or be opening the 18th LDC! Let me tell you, the theme he has decided will be the theme that determines the best in today's level designing. You'll just have to wait or see (or go into the next topic and see lulz time travel).
That's the 17th LDC, guys. Great job, Volcove, for a clean, masterful running of the LDC. And thanks to all the judges, for doing a great job.
*another round of applause*And last but not least, a round of applause for me! For my great artistry and results announcing!
*crowd blinks, awkward round of applause*Hehe... so I'll see you guys in the 18th LDC. Hopefully when I'm crushing your dreams on the way to knocking Volcove off the top of the tier list!

Speaking of which, that'll be updated soon. Ciao, everyone!
*round of applause concludes the LDC*
*walks out of hallway, lights off jetpack and rides into the sunset. Yes, I'm so badass that I have a ♥♥♥♥ jetpack**meanwhile, the people walking out the banquet hall on those lame ♥♥♥ 'feet' thingies see the list with the scores on their way out, which have a note saying "Fancier chart by Venexis upcoming eventually*
