There goes my awesome level...

Postby Frogdunker » July 26th, 2012, 5:27 pm

So I just spend 45 minutes working on a Super Mario 63 LD level, and I somehow managed to replace its tab with my history. One again, Windows 7 shortcuts manage to make me lose time.
Edit: the reason this was so annoying was the it was an automatic level, so it was extremely tedious to make.

Moved to correct forum. I'm very sorry to hear that, and it's a feel that pretty much everyone on the forums has experienced in one way or another. The only suggestion is to save frequently. There's lots of ways to misclick and accidentally get rid of everything. One easy way to avoid it is to download the .exe so that you don't have to worry about internet browser mistakes.

Success!

Yeah that's happened to me before with my LDC entries. But, as Azn said, you should save frequently. BTW when I usually lose a level and spend time recreating it, I usually find ways to improve or mistakes I had previously not noticed.

Funnily enough, that's never happened to me with levels. I think i used to lose word documents after the computer would crash and i didn't save it, so i automatically just save my work after every important section.

Although there was one time when i first started making levels for Runouw.com when the site i used wouldn't save my levels, but i think that was about the amount of space available. Oh the days where i could actually make a level in less than 24 hours ... :3
