Yeah, you totally didn't know it was me hosting this contest. :3
(you probably did, remember? My lucky number's 23...)
The last time I hosted an LDC was the 16th with that horribly awkward theme Musical Moods. I did sort of host it partly with MoD though, and this one's all mine. ^_^
Okay so firstly, you know me. I like going for the more unusual themes.
What problematic theme have I chosen this time, you say? Nah, it's opposite of problematic. I have a feeling we will get many fans...

The RULES:
- Level series will be allowed for this contest. There is a limit of 4 levels. Stories are allowed of course, in fact possibly may work well for this theme.
- Your level MUST fit the theme. If you struggle to think of anything science-y, you could do a factory (e.g. Antichesm, Underwhere), a laboratory (e.g. Space Colony, The Roaming Celsius Luminary), you could even do something space-like. Or just use your own knowledge of science to create something extra creative! And platformers are possible, but they may have to be more like factories, or have some kind of science-feel to them.
- Please don't use profanity or insults in levels. If you use profanity for a story, then make sure it's rarely used. And used in a non-offensive way for the reader.
- Collaborations are allowed. 2 people at maximum, and if you do collab, I strongly suggest you'd have planned it beforehand.
- Alternate music is allowed, using [url] tags.
- The level/s must be started from scratch.
Judging
10 points: Fun
Did the level entertain you? Was the story good, when existing, did it ruin the gameplay too much? Were there some extremely fun, annoying or frustrating parts?
5 points: Graphics
Does the level have cutoff? Did it make your eyes cry of luck or uglyness? Were the tiles and items used wisely? Do different tiles and items fit together or do they just look ugly? Is there decoration which is used in a good way?
5 points: Other
You start with 3 points. Points get added or reduced for everything which doesn't fit in any of the two categories or just stands out. Lag and loading time also give or reduce points here. Some judges also give/reduce points for a good music choice.
You judge out of 20, which will be the overall score. Judges may or may not leave a comment below the final score.
The judges for this contest:
1. ~MP3 Amplifier~
2. Nwolf
3. lordpat
4. Venexis
(5. SuperMIC (-Backup))
Please PM me if you want to be a judge. Judging must be done within a 2 week period (unless there is a major problem with judging or some judges have to pull out) and if that is the case then we might need backup judges. But we'll decide that at the time, if we have any problems. Please, if you're a judge and you need to drop out, give good reasons, not just because you can't be bothered.
Deadline:
The deadline for this LDC is 1st March, 2013, 11:59pm PST. This means you have 5 weeks to complete your entries, which should be plenty of time! If you need the deadline shortening, or even lengthened, for any reason, then that will be assessed at the time. In order to get an extension, you would need a fairly good reason. So procrastination wouldn't be an excuse sadly.
Like always, there will be a Level Vault to post your levels into. Please use that, do not post your levels here. Of course, you can use the Runouw Portal to create your level or any other websites for SM63. Thanks for reading.
And here is the Stand Alone Level Designer if you need it.
