One thing I would like to have in the Level Designer...

I think it would be great if Runouw could add the ability to play as Luigi in the standalone Level Designer. As of now, the only way to do it is in the full game, and he has to be unlocked... and I'm sure most people here use the standalone instead, because of missing cookies and whatnot...
2013 was declared to be the Year of Luigi, and maybe to celebrate it, we could add Luigi to the standalone Designer somehow, or make an alternate Designer which uses him instead of Mario. Either way, I think Luigi could offer some new possibilities for gameplay, so it could still be nice. And I don't think it would be hard to implement, since he is in the main game and all...
If Runouw were to read this request, I'd really appreciate it if he made this a reality.
Also, add Spinning Hearts

I totally agree with having Luigi. Whenever I play, I always use him once I can, since he jumps higher (not to mention the fact that he's my favorite Mario brother). Heck, that even leads to some sequence breaks I enjoy doing. The drawback to him is that he takes longer recovering from a fall in lava, which can be annoying sometimes if the camera doesn't follow him.
This is a bit off-topic, but I kinda wish that Runouw would increase the game window. Last Legacy has twice the screen space of SM63, and whenever I go to the SM63 designer, it feels squished and cluttered. I guess that's one reason I don't design SM63 levels anymore, the other being that the LL designer is so much better and it seems like too much trouble to try and design a SM63 level.
Then again, the chances of Runouw updating SM63 again are very slim, so I don't expect an update anytime soon. I can still hope, though.

If you play the full SM63 game (with both the Story and LD modes), you can actually cheat to play as Luigi in the LD. But, it, of course, wouldn't work with the Standalone version.
This was probably explained before, but:
To play as Luigi in the LD, either...
a) Jump into the Level Designer painting, in the main game, as Luigi, then select a level from the Portal and DONE.
b) Find the hidden "L" button in the File Select screen, which is exposed here: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6857&hilit=coin
After clicking the button, go to the LD menu, and play a level!
I just wanted to say that, in case you weren't aware.
Alas, I, also, could only wish that the LD would get updated again [with Luigi, for easier access].

You can always use PageUp and PageDown to zoom in and out, if that helps.

That's a good idea. Luigi jumps farther and higher than Mario, which is useful for hard platformers. And just like Zunar said, Luigi's my favorite Mario bros. character.
Two other things we should have should be a copy button and star coins.
The copy button can be used if you want to use the exact same item with the same controls and settings instead of making it all over again. The star coins could be for people who want to do a Mario series, because i think just putting a 1-up or a blue coin is too plain.
But we shouldn't flood Runouw's forum with requests for updates because I'm sure he's a busy man and doesn't have the time to make all these requests.
But a man can dare to dream

star coins only had one purpose...to give ld tilesets and features. other than that they have no other use to be needed.
rob is actually in college working on a few other interesting projects at that or was when we fb chatted. plus last legacy is in construction and will be the most advancedgame he has made as of yet.
it might could be done to switch to luigi, or if someone wereto develop an ld patch, but other than that i feel like the game has all it needs. albeit a few sound and graphics could be tweaked to fit the same style of course, but it seems like it can be successfully considered finished.
(you could always decompile the swf if you really wanted to tweak itthough. thats what ive done to my minecraft.)

About tweaks...
I think the collision detection of Boos and Big Boos should really be fixed, but not right away, obviously. No offense, Runouw, but their collision detection is really too unpredictable. I'd at least have that problem sorted out before completely abandoning work on this game forever.
IMO, I can never call something 100% finished unless everything is what it's meant to be like. For example, all functions in the game should work properly, which hasn't been fulfilled yet. If you try out their properties, Thwomp Rising Speed and Acceleration don't do anything at all. It's not a bad mistake, but they could at least be removed from the Thwomp's properties if it isn't going to be fixed.
Another tweak I'd recommend is the collision detection of flame towers when they are rotated diagonally.
I'm sorry if this is found to be off-topic, but I feel that these issues should be given more attention.
Nevertheless, do what you want at your own pace, Runouw. This game doesn't really have to be anybody's priority, although it would be convenient to have some things fixed [or even implemented] some time in the future.
