My latest story, and one of my personal favorites. A girl bound in silence finds the words to say to her prospective girlfriend as they visit her religious father in a dusty town on the edge of Kansas, where the crows' migration south brings forth anchored memories, the path to resolution, and a new start.

Result Time


Yeah. It's time to hand out the results several people are waiting for. I apologize for the delay. If I'd been a good host, I would have had a backup plan at hand. However, I didn't. While there've been several things, I'd definitely not do again and tons of possible improvements, it did however show, that future LDC's might take a few elements from this, in order to make them a better experience in general. Let's head to the results then.



6th place: show
[Beta] King Thwomps Strikes by begig88

Not much to say about this one. Well done for your first try, though.
Overall Score: 8.67




5th place: show
Reddish Cappish of Miracle Dish
by harmless

That level title gave me a hard time to remember, as I did need to look it up over and over again. Still, well done.
Overall Score: 11.08





4th place: show
The Tyranny of the Mushroom Empire

I'm liking your level designing style. It's been a good series in general. Looking forward to your next work.

Vengeance

You are pretty much the only guy, using one awesome boss battle as standalone level. Hell, it's been somewhat challenging and kept me entertained till the very end.

To describe this one with one word, it'd be a simple 'Wow'. There's too much to say about this one, so it'd be a better idea to take my rant to another non-spoilerish place.

loljk, I'm shocked I won actually. Well, shocked in an unnaturally calm way. My entry wasn't anywhere near as good as my past winners, it was all a bit random, and I deliberately left things unchecked. I secretly wanted Volkove or Peter to win tbh, but on the bright side this makes up for my 25quared level possibly losing. xD

Thanks though, I can't wait to see the judgings. I'll post up mine any second.
(And I'm more and more tempted to make something very epic so I can actually have a chance at winning this year's WITBLO.)

Vengeance
Fun: 6.25/10 While ideas you used in the level are really nice, I don't think it really is that enjoyable. The third room annoyed me a lot, didn't really like the glitch you used in this room.
Graphics: 2.5/5 Tiling is pretty simple, the boss looks relativly nice though
Other: 3.25/5 +1: Fire rain mechanic is quite nice
-0.75: The platform in the first boss room is placed too far right and therefore allows the player to fall down there.
0: Lag but only very short loading time
Overall: 12/20

The Great War
Fun: 6.75/10 Part 1: Yeah, it's a prologue.
Part 2: The level looks really great and I can see some interesting concepts in here that also worked pretty well, but: it just lags waaaaaaay too much. Especially the last part. I think it would've been possible to add one or two more transitions to reduce the lag (and loading time ;_;) to a minimum but I don't want to reduce too many points for that.
Graphics: 4.75/5 The level has very nice tiling but I think a littttle bit more decoration would have been great
Other: 2.75/5 0: Part 1: No lag but pretty long loading time
-0.5: Part 2: Lots of lag and long loading times
+0.25: Like the flying cap sections
Overall: 14.25/20

[BETA] King Thwomp Strikes
Fun: 5/10 Like the a lot and then the boss fight. Don't really like the way it's done, the challenges don't fit to the overall theme of the level and some rooms lag like hell because... I actually don't know.
Graphics: 3/5 Average
Other: 2.75/5 0: No lag or loading until the boss fight rooms where it increases a lot
-0.25: Some weird sling stars
Overall: 10.75/20

Hell's Rebellion
Fun: 9.15/10 Must be the most fun level I've played after I started becoming more active again! I really enjoyed the huge amount of different platforming techniques with some standing out (water rocks/blue fire) but also some sadly reducing the points a bit (like the 1-block gate/block/gate/etc. jumps that annoyed me a bit) (not that I fell down there but it was annoying)
Graphics: 5/5 I really don't think I have to explain this
Other: 3.85/5 0: Part 1: Relativly long loading time but no lag
+0.1: Part 2: Short loading time and no lag
+0.25: Part 3: No problems
-0.5: Losing the invisibility star in the garden because of entering the temple results in not being able to return
+0.25: Really nice work with some bullet bill and stone formations
+0.25: Wolves <3
+0.5: More extra points because I somehow fell in love with Part 1
Overall: 18/20
