Requested Topic does not exist

Postby Thefiredragoon » August 2nd, 2014, 4:15 pm

We've all had that moment. Full of Hype of when our level is released. We click on it and.... "Requested Topic Does Not Exist"

Seriously. Whats with this? I released my most recent level (Bowsers Cabin) And it says "Requested Topic Does Not Exist" When i click on it.
Schedule:

A ton of stray levels coming up these few months.
Continuing The Mushroom Games
Super Mario Journey canceled (Atleast delayed for a year or 2. Maybe a few months?)
Marios Journey coming back as soon as i finish some Stray Levels. and finish The Mushroom Games
New series coming out when I'm back to doing 1 series (When I'm continuing Super Mario Journey)
Doing Polls on boss levels/Series Beginners saying whether or not you would like to see more of it.

(IMPORTANT NOTICE: i will not be posting levels that much while school starts. I will try to make levels but it will possibly take a day or 2 just to get time to start one)

If you didn't know, your first five levels need to be approved by level mods (or another mods) before they go live, so you still need four more to go. But actually, normally it just takes one or two days for levels to be approved or disapproved, but in the last time Triple J seems to be the only lemod approving levels while the other three seem to forget about their debates :troll: I've also suffered from this, and if you're sure there's no reason to disapprove your levels and it still takes way too long (like one week or so), go PM Amp or Nin, maybe they take some time for your levels.

Thank you, FF.

Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

These are just general principles I try to follow when rating. Sometimes I don't leave a further comment when rating, most times I do, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask further.

I don't know, it was just that I also talked with Yuri about this via PM and he said:
the only one I see approving levels is JJJ, while some almost never are online

And Thefiredragoon, you also shouldn't post disapproved levels in a series or collection, lemods can still edit them out. When a level is disapproved, there's also a reason why it's disapproved. Instead, pay attention to the level posting rules and some basic no-goes on LDing (cutoff, enemy spam etc.), and try again.

Keep in mind this was only an opinion. I'll not neglate I said that, because I really feel we're lacking Level Mods.

I looked at the level list one day, and there were 6 levels waiting for approval, all the levels were posted in the timespan of a week, not only in one day. Supershroom's level, for example, had to wait more than a week to be approved. As I also stated in said PM:

I understand most of them probably have real life issues, but if that's the case, then I think more level mods would solve this problem.

Unless you can see the MCP where it tells you which level mods approved which levels, then it's not really fair to make assumptions like that. It's not just JJJ who sorts out the levels.

I understand JJJ is not the only one approving levels, I only assumed that based on the fact he's the one I see leaving reviews and such often in the portal. I apologize for my mistake.

But as I said, I just think that either the load of work is too big for the number of the current cast, or we're just needing more Level Mods, so levels can be approved in a smaller timespan.

Again, this was only an opinion. Sorry for the confusion this caused.

JJJ's pretty wasom, don't get me wrong, he's probably the most active level mod atm when it comes to giving portal reviews. :P But just didn't want to discount the other lemons, they all do their bit and they all do it well.

But anyways, I've actually disapproved/approved a few levels for once, one of the levels approved was made by the owner of this topic. So yeah.
