LDCs: Take Two

Let's have an experiment. Let's see what kinds of distortions we can make (if any) by judging LDC entrants ourselves.

Let's have a whole database of modern judgings on every past and future LDC.



So how will this work?


Well, the idea is to have a collection of judgings for every single entrant eventually. Once a significant amount is collected, we can see how scores and placings change with different judging panels.
    For these initial weeks (or months, if need be), anyone that would like to contribute can PM me their judgings of whichever LDC we're collecting for. I may eventually just allow people to make posts and edit them, but for now, I want judgings to be as isolated as possible.
    This can be done at their own pace, but if I find that you don't send in all your judgings in a timely manner and I have a bunch of others waiting to be shown, I'll omit it and maybe add it back when we circle around again.
Please judge in our current LDC format, 10:5:5, Gameplay:Graphics:Other. Your style of judging can stay the same though (bulleted points, paragraphs, short notes, etc.)

Wait, so this is to judge a level with the intent that we do it from a more future state, as opposed to judging it back when the LDC was finished?

Yes. It's also to see how flawed our system is, if at all.
Hell, with this, we can even see results using different systems.

You're going to have to give me an LDC entrant that I have judged in the past then, if any (aside from the 27th LDC, I'm afraid Supershroom might say that I rigged my judgings lel).

I actually have thought about this, solely because for some levels, what was impressive back then might be seen as mediocre or archaic today. I wonder if some LDCs have levels that got 16s and 17s that would get 13-14s today, and so on/so forth.

It's certainly an interesting idea. Just posting here so I can follow this topic, and I may or may not decide to get involved at some point in the future.

Nonono, you're misunderstanding something.

The point is for everyone to judge everything. It doesn't have to be something you've judged before.

I might give this a shot in the future. I read up on the Six Thinking Hats, so I might try to take the different approaches when judging.
