First Level of Later Successes
While being once again bored enough to go through old LDC judgings, I found my first LDC level. Needless to say the doctors are still patching up my wrists.
But then I thought about it, and I realized that a lot of LDC winners and famous designers had some really humble, overlooked, or flat out ♥♥♥♥ early levels. And you know what, I like that. I like how some people like myself, Amp, and other future LDC winners started off really modestly. I think it's something that should encourage humbler designers to keep trying and not feel too bad if they bomb an LDC. Cause lord knows I've been there, most of us have, and I wanna talk about it.
So you can talk about your first LDC entrant, first level, whatever, and maybe talk about how that led to later success. I plan to every once in awhile review one of the first levels from LDC winners/runners-up/etc and compare it to their prize work. No one get too flustered over it, we're all gonna share in the shame except for the born winners, so no fretting. We grow naturally, and we improve over time. This is just about the first step of a large journey.
Here, to help you open up, here's my first LDC entrant, for the 3rd LDC:

It pretty clearly hints at future ambition, as even in my wee days I was trying to make a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure level, despite it being, well... ♥♥♥♥. Unclear paths, permanent traps, horrible graphics, and a clear lack of understanding how platforms work. An all-around mess, but I can still see the storytelling elements that would create my future success hidden beneath the ♥♥♥♥ pile. So not a total loss.
