My level got deleted?

So yeah... In case you didn't read my subtitle: I saved my level in Slot 1 of my level designer, then logged out of my computer. I come back the next day and my level is gone. :? I am on an ASUS C300 Chromebok. Can someone tell me what's wrong?

If your cookies got deleted for any reason, that deletes your levels saved in slots. They might have been deleted because you were using a privacy mode on your browser, or because someone cleared the Internet history.

In the future, saving the level as text is more reliable, and can be stored in Notepad or on Google Drive or some such program.

I'm pretty sure my cookies never got deleted... I am using Google Drive to save my text code for a new level I'm working on: the Mountain of Prosperity. Thanks for your advice though.

Shouldn't we create a new topic with a FAQ about SM63/LL Level Designer and answer all the questions that new people always have, instead of answering them all the time they create at new topic? *looks at mirror*

Or am I such a lazy person to even know we already have it?

Also, yeah, like Shroom said, don't trust the browser cookies, because they have a big chance of not working.

I guess the level can be deleted even without the cookies themselves being deleted, so: never ever ever save it to the browser's cookies anymore.

And even when saving the code as a text file, be sure to save often and in regular intervals, for the case you close the designer by accident / you open a video and Flash stops responding / Flash stops responding for no reason at all etc. - this has all happened to me already.

Yeah, never trust bowser cookies. They're anti-Mario. :awe:

In all seriousness though, browser cookies do often have a chance of being deleted without reason or even altered sometimes (happened to me once). Much safer to use text.

I am not new, however I am using a different computer than I originally used for browser saves. I am using a chromebook I got this Christmas, and I'm guessing ChromeOS manages browser cookies differently, resulting in a save file delete.

NOTE TO CHROMEBOOK USERS: DO NOT SAVE FILES ONTO YOUR BROWSER COOKIES UNLESS YOU AREN'T CLOSING THE LEVEL EDITOR/EXITING THE GAME.

I wasn't actually saying you're new, it's because some new people have the same difficulties and the same questions as you, and it's easier and simpler to create a FAQ answering all these questions.

Oh, I see. Thanks for clearing that up. By the way, just loaded my game I was working on last night in the level editor and it worked...? Plus it loaded exactly the way I left it?
