Two electricity effects. The one with the thwomps is only visible when the course is tested. Blocks with a rotation speed of 90 flip 90 degrees each turn. To make a block flicker, set the speed equal to the block size and acceleration to 999. Different lengths can make the block appear and disappear.
This works best with the quality on low and the autoquality off (right click). Also, try changing the block textures (red with blue is interesting, electricity is most visible with transparent green).

What I find more significant is the fact that the lightning can HURT you. This is just too good...

Green platforms with 999 acceleration and an odd number count allow you to move through walls and be in two places at once. Change the speed for different lengths.

A section (rough draft) of a ghost/spaceship level, which I might make depending on how this works out. This seems like it could be a major lag bomb, though i haven't tested it on the old computer yet, so it would be a good idea to right click on the screen and change the quality to low and autoquality off before loading the level.

As you said, though, it does lag quite a bit, even on low quality (around 10-13 FPS). And I do think I have a rather fast computer!

I'm trying to make a level with the whole walk through walls trick, but it just ends up with Mario vibrating in place. How should I fix this?
