So, I was playing a level blackyoshi sent to me, tested it etc. and at the end, something similar to what happens to me in this video happened.

HOW TO DO THAT GLITCH:

1) Mix Flying and Metal Cap
2) Go underwater
3) Fly underwater
4) Fly against wall (still underwater)
5) Land on floor
6) Press these arrow keys at the same time: Up, Right, Left
7) ???
8) Mario should be dead now

So, I found out that, when you change the platform count of circling platforms in the code, there will be one more platform which.. well, you can see it in the level!

:lol: I actually did that on my 6th Level, "Troubled Lava Land!" I made about 7 horizontal flamethrowers (I think), which were almost to "0" in the x axis, to make water seem hot (you get hurt, and flung into the air.).


Back on topic: I am unsure if anyone knows this yet, but some of the sprites (I noticed this with Arrows, Bullet Bills, the higher numbered [in ID] enemy sprites, and even floating platforms.) are NEVER layered behind Twisted Wire. I tried it on my 7th Level (which I will submit soon.), and since it made the Twisted Wire look bad to me, I simply erased it.

That's because Twisted Wire is a BG tile... (lol month long answer)

It would be a little neater if everything were on one layer of the BG tile, so it could look a bit better graphically. But yeah...

I just found something (I couldn't find anything similar when searching through the forums). I think it is interesting (maybe even controversial).



I was designing a new level, and eventually the editing background turned dark. This case was different. I never touched either ctrl key before the darkness. It's bugging me how it went dark THIS time (no pun intended).

Now, after it went dark (and saved my progress) I fiddled with the ctrl key trick thingy and found this after a couple other screens showed up. The crazy part is the fact that the "buttons" act like tiles...! And you can play it like a level, without a goal.

My guess is that Runouw may have originally planned on implementing a Game Over screen that shows when losing all lives, but took it out.

What do you guys think? Or Runouw'll tell us.

Well?


A) Holding the "Ctrl" key and pressing -> or <- is just a shortcut for Step Forward. However, some different happened. I do not know what caused it, but the grid in the LD went dark for some reason. Pressing either arrow key with "Ctrl" did not revert the effect, so it could have just been a rare glitch. Actually, it happened to me a couple other times in the past.
I swear I didn't hold the "Ctrl" key!

B) It's original... but spammy. Even though it does allow teleportation, it wouldn't look good graphically. If this idea were to be used, I would place a wall to cover all, but a Shine Sprite on the outer side, like this:

This just in, I found a way to make harmful spikes!
Somebody may have thought of this before, but I do not see anything on these forums covering this trick.

    Step 1: Place at least several Big Bullies.
    Step 2: Copy (Save) the level code.
    Step 3: Paste the code onto something like Note/Wordpad or Microsoft Word.
    Step 4: Search through the code for the Big Bully Sprite ID, which is 61. (found in the code, it will look like |61,x,y,1|
    Step 5: Add a zero between the "|" and "6."
    Step 5.5: (optional) Add a comma before the second "|", then a number, 0 through 360 (adding a 360 is the same as adding a 0). This will allow you to rotate the disabled Big Bully later on.
    Step 6: Copy the new code, and paste/load it in the Level Designer.
    Step 7: Find the disabled Big Bully(ies), and move them to somewhere that would cover them, with only their horns showing.
    Step 8: Now that you have spikes, add a Flame Tower.
    Step 9: Make it so it stays on forever, then stretch the y axis size to a distance equal to the length of the row of spikes.
    Step 10: Adjust the Flame Tower's position so that its center is just at the tip of the spikes.
    Step 11: Set the x axis size to "0."
    Step 12: Align the "invisible" Flame Tower with the spikes.

If you followed those steps correctly, the Big Bullies' horns should be the only things showing, the invisible flames just by the "spikes," and each point harmful on contact.
