LDP rules

Postby Kimonio » June 30th, 2010, 11:33 am

As level mods, it is my duty to delete all the crappy levels you guys submit. Recently, I've had to delete levels that were submitted by a few users. Here are a couple of them that I will state the names of:

luigi fan 63(level spam)
kooky klickers(level SPAAAAAAAAAMMM)
hotwheels818(Won't stop submitting spam levels.>_>)

Now, since you people still don't get the point of what we DON'T want submitted, Then all of you had better read this. If you can't read, get your mama to read it. If your mama can't read, get your daddy to read it. If they can't read it, go get your librarian from your school to read it. If she can't read it, get some drug-dealing hobo off the streets to read it for you. But you guys had better read these rules and memorize ALL of them. >_>

#1- We don't care if you discovered how to disable enemies, disable items, make mirror tiles, or make invincible bullets. Thanks to luigi fan 63, the level designer portal was spammed with a crapload of levels with nothing but invincible bullets in them. Keep the secret to yourself. We already know how to disable.

#2- Do not on any condition resubmit your level multiple times. If it doesn't appear on your profile, ask the staff (Shadrixian, Kirby_999, nin10mode, MICrophone, Blablob, fourinone, Superyoshi, Runouw, Yoshi Boo 118, Kirby859, Buffooner) on the main site (index.php) if we deleted it, because the chances are that we did for it being spam.

#3- Any levels that have Mario placed over a shine sprite will be automatically deleted. If you keep doing this, we will have the moderators (Superyoshi, MICrophone, Blablob, fourinone) give you a ban from the site for a certain amount of time. If you re-register to bypass the ban, the mods have all rights to ban you from the site permanently.

#4- Any levels that drop the FPS(frames per second) below 10 will be automatically deleted. These levels lag a person computer and may make them have to shut down their computer. DON'T submit these levels.......or else. >_>

#5- I don't care if you guys think levels that have INSERT-NUMBER-HERE shine sprites stacked on top of each other are awesome or epic. We as level moderators think they are crap. This rule goes back to what I said in Rule #4. Don't do it or else.

#6- Do not make hate levels that are directed to certain portal submitters. Doing so will result in a warning/ban.

#7- We as level moderators are doing our job and keeping the portals clean of spam levels. If you don't like what we are doing, don't say anything. Don't make hate levels. Don't try to act like you are better than us and mess us up by submitting multiple spam levels just to make us have to work harder and delete them all. Doing so will make you our #1 enemy. We will not consider warnings for you ever again. We will automatically ban you. NO EXCEPTIONS.

#8- Due to a couple of idiots, your levels must now be more than 65 tiles in length. I don't care how big you make it, but don't stack the level with parts over each other. You must also use level transitions. If the level is laggy and has an FPS of 10 or below, guess what? It gets deleted.

#9- No more downrating before you test the level. You know who you are. You must completely test the level before rating. Say you made a long level, no lag, and it ran smoothly. Would you like it if some n00b like most of the LDP spammers came and downrated it? No? Then don't downrate anymore.

#10- Only you have the ability to edit your level. Don't blame others or say it was hacked.........because it isn't possible to hack it. Me and Suyo have gone through and fixed the loopholes.

#11- If you are below 11, you must first make a welcome topic in the Welcome forum, else we will delete your levels until you do. This will let us know if you are mature enough to be making levels. You can thank the 7/8/9-year-old LDP spammers for this, by the way. Also, if you are below 11 and have been on the forums for a while, you are okay.

12- No more glitch levels. No more showing off tricks you found. If it uses glitches, make sure you have made a proper level.

13- If you've been banned, don't rereg. We will permaban you. Rereg again? That earns you an IP ban and no more chances to submit a level.

14- No impersonating the mods. We will get you for it. >_>

15- Don't tell someone their level is crappy in a comment. Give some description. Explain a bit. Tell them what was wrong.

16- Don't on any condition tell someone to delete their level; if a level violates a rule, tell the Level Mods and we will handle it. >_>

We hope that you read these rules and understand them. If you don't follow them..............then you will face the consequences later on.

Thanks for reading,

Shadrixian(Level Moderator)

It gets deleted if it's below 10 or 14 fps?

Suggestion: italics are my edits.

I've made a couple of suggestions in the chat that could be used to help keep the LDP clean.

THE LEVEL DESIGNER APPROVAL SYSTEM
1- You need to have made a welcome topic
2- You must watch a tutorial video over how to make a level
3- You must then take a test. If you get below 80%, you must redo the tutorial

THE LEVEL APPROVAL SYSTEM
1- If the length(not height) is less than 65, the level will not be submitted
2- A bot will test the level to determine it's lag
3- A bot will " " " " " " to determine the difficulty

THE ANTI-SPAM SYSTEM

1- If you get three spam levels reported and deleted, you must redo the tutorial
2- If you have less than 10 levels submitted, you will need to have the level approved by a level mod

Yeah, but we will base them off of age and maturity. If they have horrible grammar(not the W_M version, the chatspeak version that kayleesophie types in), bye-bye user. Also, I will make those edits in a minute. ;)

Well, those bots could be OVER 9000 lines of code, and would require a coding god to do it. Then again, I don't now much about coding myself, and for all I know, it could be two lines of code.

Kim, if you did the rule about length, you'd have to delete half my levels. I like my levels to be short and sweet, so NO.

I think no few than TOTALLY 1000 tiles will fine. (Like: 40x24) Too small.....

All of them will make the LDP very troublesome like fxxx, well, why don't just deleting them? Do did and no one will post their level, becasue in this few day the ZLevels get "reduced post.".
Also, can I have a special ro make wrong grammer? I don't know.

The rating system should also not be made available till one grabs the shine sprite.

I think that would be a little hard to code into the site.
Also, the bot idea is very unlikely...
