Sudden Death Glitch

I honestly don't know if anyone has found this yet. If so, I apologize.

I designed a level with Silver Stars. I ran over and grabbed the last one, but hit a wall at the same time (since the Silver Star was close to it). Mario did the squish-against-wall-and-fall-down animation, and layed down on the floor as the Shine Sprite appeared. When Mario layed down, I pressed the Up and Left arrow keys so, after the Shine Sprite was done, I could jump over a Goomba, not die, and grab the Sprite. When I pressed the keys, Mario started to do the getting-up animation, but, just before he actually stood up, he layed back down, the keys wouldn't work again, and he instantly died. I performed it a second time to make sure I wasn't nuts, and I realized that, when he died, the Health Pie thing didn't change at all. I did the same thing with a Red Coin and the same thing occurred.

Anyone else notice this?

Yeah... I've had that. I'm not exactly sure what causes it.

Still, you shouldn't worry about it as you can just make the level longer or move the coin/star.

Maybe you have to be low on health and the game thinks the goomba hit you

The Goomba has nothing to do with it.

Other users may want to come in post their own comment, which is why we regularly don't lock topics.
